Re: Maddie (and Madison, Madeline etc.)

I don't dislike Maddie, it's cute, but I prefer the spelling Madi, it feels neater and straightforward. Maddy is fine but bland. I wouldn't use any of them as a full name.
My preferred longer form is Madeleine, then Madeline (both pronunciations), then Madelaine, then Madelyn and lastly Madilyn, which I dislike. Other forms I like are Madalaine, Madalene (and Madalène), Madelene (and Madelène), Madeleina, Madelina and Madlena.
Maddison looks overdone and obnoxious, like a combination of Madison and Addison. I like Madison, it's juvenile and fresh, but overused. I enjoy Madigan, and I'm surprised it hasn't charted yet.
Last but not least, I think Maddie would make an adorable nickname for Maud / Maude.
