I really like the name, but knew a guy named Shay and he was teased because it rhymes with "gay". Kind of immature of people, but you need to consider all the risks! :)

I prefer Shea and for a boy (esp as a nn for Seamus). Boaz is ok, but a little 'out there' for most. Bo would be a cute nn. It would be a great name for a dog (no offense). :b

I do prefer it slightly more on a girl. However, it's not terrible for a boy. Shea is my favorite spelling, then Shay. I don't like the Shae spelling. It looks transposed to me.Britney Tamber

I prefer Shea.I think it's very nice spelt that way, but Shay & Shae are NMS.
Boaz is interesting, but I'll admit my first thought was of feather boas.

I think Shay looks a little more masculine, so I like that spelling best. What about Shea? I know a guy who spells it that way.

Well, I met a girl today named Shaye, and that's the spelling I like best. I dislike Shae though: it looks trendy imo. I love Boaz :)

It seems a little feminine for a boy, but I wouldn't like it on a girl either. If you do choose it though, I like it spelled Shae.

I'm not a fan of Shay, it sounds feminine to me, plus I'm not huge of the -sh- names. I do like Boaz. I think it's pretty neat and uncommon.
