Ella ...
Working on some research on Ella again. Can anyone confirm that these are all legitimate meanings for the name Ella?ELLA
(Germanic/Norman French) “Other, Foreign” from Ali
(Ancient Germanic) “Entire, All” from Alja
(Greek) “Torch”, “Corposant” from Ellen, a form of Helen
(Spanish/Catalan/Italian) “She”
(Hebrew) “Goddess”

You may add: "pistachio tree" in Hebrew. But in both cases (goddess and pistachio) the double L doesn't make any sense in Hebrew. There are double consonants in Hebrew, but both words would simply be transcribed as "ela".

Not sure if this is the info you want at all, but in Sweden Ella has been used from 1500 something, originally though as a shorter form of various names, such as
Gabriella
Elisabet
Elin ( derived from Helena)
also NN for Edla (originally Edela ) meaning honorable
