From childhood their lives were very different. The two came to know each other while at the same gas station when robbery was taking place. The two hid together and were there for 8 hours, after the traumatic event the two became close and eventually started dating. They recently settled down together.

The Bustos-Ureña Family (1-19)
Backstory: Celestino and Laura had been married for four years and had a son together when Varinia came into the picture. Varinia was a young and spunky girl with an open mind. She came into the Bustos lives as a baby sister for Cio. She was 18 at the time and took a liking to the couple. After getting to know them better Varinia expressed her fondness for the family and how she yearned to be apart of it. Celestino and Laura were a bit taken aback but after a few weeks settled down into the idea of letting Varinia into their lives. After much talking and a lot of deciding Celestino and Laura decided to add Varinia to their love life. Laura was openly bisexual and Celestino had wanted to add another partner into the family for a few months. The trio became a true family after Cio called Varinia 'madre'. Antonin and Joyce went to the same high school and were good friends. Joyce found herself liking Antonin but Antonin had a girlfriend who had fallen pregnant. His girlfriend and him ended up breaking up after their daughter was born and never got back together. Joyce moved back to America to be with her mother. She didn't come back until 7 years later to be with her very sick father. Antonin and Joyce reconnected and found themselves falling for each other. They started dating in 2015 and got married in October of 2017. There story starts shortly after they settled down in a home together with Antonin's daughter Claudette and their dog Laure.

They got the puppies tested and they turned out to be corgi and irish sheepdog from their mystery father. They were named Reine, Kilian, and Jade, they kept two girls and a boy.

Another one! The Teufels
Jörg and Anja are both natives to Austria. They met and dated in high school, broke up before college, and somehow their fates have aligned them together again. In many ways they act like a much older couple than they are, whenever a fight arises it often turns to petty bickering and is easy for them to laugh it off. They decided to move in with each other last year and are thoroughly comfortable with one another.
Jörg has recently begun a job at an architecture firm, the work is dull and repetitive but he finds a calming enjoyment in it. He is still taking classes to achieve his major.
Jörg grew up in an artistic family and originally went to school for music (he plays the trumpet and piano, like his father). It wasn’t until college that he found his passion for draftwork and architecture. If not working or jamming on an instrument he is often found reading. He’s never been fond of outdoor activities (except the less intensive winter ones) and was considered a geek in school, though he is not shy by any means.
Anja is currently in school studying to be a virologist and considers herself to be an academic. She has a job as a lab technician.
Anja was adopted as a baby and grew up in a large family. She has always felt out of place having never known her birth parents. Her intellectual prowess was recognized at a young age and her parents encouraged it to the nth degree, possibly a bit too much. Anja felt she had to be the “smart one” and was always stressed about her grades. She still sometimes comes across as a little snippy and some people consider her pretentious. In her small amount of down-time she likes to play video games and cook.

Tahlia always wanted to be a teacher but growing up in a poor family their wasn't money for her to go to University. Her mother made this very clear when Tahlia went to her mother to talk about higher education, her dreams were crushed. Tahlia soon moved out at the age of 17 & never looked back, her mother also became angry with Tahlia as she came out as asexual. Her relationship with her mother was in tatters & she never knew her father so that didn't help either. Tahlia yearned to love someone she had so much love to give but never found anyone who wanted it.
Zara Curry grew up in a middle class family & was an only child. Zara always wanted a younger sibling but her mother died while in childbirth. Zara's father secretly resented Zara for this but felt guilty about it. Zara had no relationship with her father to speak of. Émeline Hannah Borde had visited the island of Martinique from her native Toulouse many times throughout her childhood to visit her aunt and uncle. Over the years she fell in love with the culture and beauty of the island and became determined to live there.
Émeline has always been whimsical, prone to daydreaming, and thoroughly idealistic. Friends and family consider her lovably kooky and naive. Her idealism (and a bit of her parents help) got her degree in art history and a job as a journalist for a popular fashion/decor blog by age 21.
Due to Émeline’s fanciful personality she had been encouraged at a young age to express her creativity, she did best so by writing. At age 25 Émeline’s book was published by a major company. Now economically comfortable and taxed with writing sequels, she quits her journalism job. At age 26 the sequel is published with major applause.
Now having enough money and stability, Émeline is more motivated than ever to move to her dream island Martinique. She packs her bags and flies away.
At age 27 Émeline is mostly acclimated to her new home and is learning the spoken Creole. She has been spending a lot of time with her aunt (Alizée) and uncle (Lou). Alizée is a Martinique native and has been having fun showing her around the island. Alizée insists in a motherly way that Émeline is a lonely being in such a new place and decides to arrange a little party to introduce her to new friends. At the party Émeline meets Théo Valère Borde.
Théo is a colleague of Uncle Lou at a big construction company, he works as a project manager. Théo is a native to Martinique and likes to boast that he has never set foot off the island. Always adventurous and studious as a child, he spent much of his time outdoors learning about animals and plants from his Papy. Théo’s father was a construction worker and Théo grew up wanting to be just like his father. As Théo grew older he realized he wouldn’t be able to be a construction worker due to his scoliosis. He became gloomier as he aged, teenage years were the hardest, but he was still determined to do as well as he could in school to make his parents proud.

Ari and Rachel met in high school and never dated, but spent a lot of time together in their group of friends. After graduation, Ari went into the military, dreaming of flying planes. Rachel started working at her father's non-profit company to provide support to homeless shelters and programs for the people in them. When Ari returned to town on leave, he asked Rachel out on a date, and she agreed! Seventeen months later, they were married in a quiet ceremony with friends and family. Rachel moved to live with Ari at Volkel Air Base, where he is currently stationed.

Ari and Rachel celebrated their first anniversary by telling their friends and familiy that they were expecting a baby! Their son, Willem, was born two days shy of his due date, on January 12th. They took him home a few days later and began an adventure as parents.
Year 2: Family Event; Someone gets injured or sick permanently

After multiple surgeries and recovery time, he was able to get a prosthetic, which he is still learning how to use. Because of his injury, he is no longer able to be in the Air Force. He does receive disability benefits through them, but he is currently unemployed and trying to decide what to do with himself. For now, he spends lots of time with Rachel and Willem.

The Dyer Family (1-25)
Back Story: August Dyer was from the mainland U.S. & grew up in New York. After his mother died soon after he turned 18 he decided he needed a change of scenery & moved to Puerto Rico. He settled in Aibonito, Puerto Rico & soon enrolled in college. While in college he met Dulce Vilar a native Puerto Rican, English wasn't her first language so she wasn't able to communicate with August too well. After finding Dulce attractive August offered to teach her English, her being attracted to him accepted wanting to spend more time with the odd American boy. Dulce soon caught on, her & August soon found themselves spending more time together & soon started dating. After dating for 4-years they decided to get engaged soon after Dulce discovered she was pregnant with their first child. August & Dulce were ecstatic, Dulce's father wanted the two marry him being a very traditional guy. The couple decided to wait until after their child was a little bit older to tie the knot. Their story begins soon after their first child was born.
