Royal Family (Sister and brother-in-law to the
Queen)
The past five years have alternated between difficulty and peace for the Rey-Anson family.
Hermione remains the Arch-Mage, and between advising her sister, completing her Arch-Mage duties, and taking care of her children, her time is completely taken up. As such,
William spends more time with the children, splitting their time between their country estate and their apartments at Court.
Athena and
Leda settled back into their quiet childhood lives after the end of the war, but
Athena quickly grew restless with the childish regime of tutoring and playing with her younger siblings. Two years after the war,
Athena was formally presented at Court and lived in the family apartments, often with her mother. At 16, she was admitted to the College of Mages and moved into quarters at the college's facilities. As
Minnie started to look for suitors for
Chloe,
Hermione and
William began the search for a match for
Athena.
Athena has been very focused on her training and academics and had no romantic interest and so did not really mind that her parents were arranging a marriage for her. One of
Chloe's suitors was the heir to a nearby country who was much older than
Chloe. That suit fell through but not until the prince visited Kriana with a small retinue in tow. Among them was his younger brother, who is a talented mage and showed great interest in the College of Mages.
Hermione and
Athena were soon showing him around the college and introducing him to the impressive faculty. Though he returned home with his brother, he returned to Kriana soon after to seek admission to the College of Mages. After a few months at the college,
Athena and
Prince Hector had become good friends.
Hector found out that
Hermione and
William were arranging a marriage for his new friend and decided to put his suit forward as well. The family was delighted and chose
Hector to become
Athena's husband. The match is good politically, and
Athena and
Hector are very happy. They were married this spring and were granted private apartments at the College so they could live together.
Hector is a gallant and charismatic man, intelligent and magically gifted. He has auburn hair and blue eyes shot with silver. He fits into the family very well and though
Athena wasn't upset by her arranged marriage, she is glad that she is married to someone close to her in age, and especially glad to her friend and fellow mage.
Hector is a duke in his home country and
Athena became Duchess of Amaille upon their marriage. The couple actually had two wedding celebrations, one hosted by
Hector's father the
King and the other at the palace in Kriana.
Athena was happy to meet her new family, but is very glad they are living in Kriana.
Though less anxious than her vibrant and powerful sister,
Leda also wished to end her childhood after her experience in the war. She returned to healing training this year and is enjoying herself very much. During her training she met a young man named
Castor, whom she trained closely with. He is a native Krianan, the son of one
Minerva's military officers during both of the conflicts in the last 20 years, and has light brown hair and green eyes. He is a very gentle young man, extremely intelligent, but not very strongly magical. Much of his healing is done with minimal magic on his part, often supported by
Leda's magical skill.
Leda and
Castor quickly fell in love, and
William was happy to accept
Castor's proposal last month.
Leda is happy for her sisters' help planning her wedding, which is to be a much more subdued affair than
Athena's elaborate double wedding.
Castor is popular with the younger children, but is a bit intimidated by
Athena and
Hector.
Melaina is excited about the weddings and was a great help in preparing
Athena's wedding gown and court attire for her stay with her new family, as well as with embroidering linens for
Athena's married household. She has shown passion for embroidery, sewing, and pretty much anything with fabric. She is a valuable asset for the family, mending clothing for the household and even making dresses for her younger sisters.
Robert adores his father and new brother-in-law and loves to go riding with them. He loves playing outside, especially with his sister
Niobe, who is very close to him in age. He attends his parents' academy and does fairly well.
Niobe is an energetic and active ten year old and is definitely a bit of a tomboy. She prefers trousers to the pretty dresses handed down to her from
Melaina. She is also attending her parents' academy and does well in most of her studies. She has shown interest in her Aunt
Ari's stories about spying. She has a small amount of magical ability and receives basic training at the academy as well.
Little
Phaedra has developed silver streaks in her violet-gray eyes, but has also been sick on and off throughout her entire life.
Castor and
Leda are quietly concerned for her, and keep a close eye on the petite girl when they are at her parents' estate.
