1. I like it a lot!
2. I'm not sure. I work at an elementary school, and I know I've seen students walking around with the books before, so they're definitely still being read. I know it's still in the public conscious. To what degree is the question. I would say a lot of people would still think of HP when hearing
Hermione, but maybe they wouldn't be as inclined to think the name just came from that? Maybe? On the plus side, as someone else mentioned, the pronunciation is now pretty well known.
3. I kind of like it, but I kind of don't. I can't quite make up my mind. I think part of me doesn't feel like it's a proper nickname, more like maybe someone was being a lazy talker and just dropped the first syllable. I like
Henny better...Well, except for the bit where I think it would probably have more teasing potential.
4. I could see
Alice and
Hermione together in a sibset. In fact, I really like the two together. They both seem old-fashioned and literary.
David just vibes differently to me. It seems so generic.
David brings
Alice down to commonness. Next to
David and
Alice,
Hermione sticks out. (Sorry!)
