oh i never saw it as a stern kind of name, i thought it'd be seen as a frilly name if anything, but i'm glad it's not. tbh i'm not a name of Ludie, i'd go with Lída or Mila.
a few of the names you paired it with are on my list, but i never thought to pair with it, ex Ludmila Zoe (!)
i realllllllly like:
Ludmila Dorothy (though i'd go with Dorothea)
Ludmila Fern
Ludmila Genevieve (sounds very elegant)
