I love the name. My first association with the name was the film Gigi with the actress Hermione Gingold playing the grandmother. I also did Latin and a lot of Shakespeare at school including A Winters Tale. During Latin as well as learning the language we looked at Roman and Greek myths and legends.
As a result I had plenty of associations with the name before the first book which was released when I was 13. If I met a child called Hermione HP wouldn’t be my first thought.
