Salome (I say, "sa-LO-may") has an exotic quality to it that I find intriguing. But there are two strikes against it as a fn, for me. One is the biblical story. I rail against
Delilah and
Jezebel so I should be consistent with
Salome. Two, there aren't many female names with a stressed, long "o" sound that I like. (
Salomea, "sal-uh-MAY-uh" is a recent love of mine).
But I love a challenge. Finding the right mn for
Salome won't be easy. A conventional mn like
Catherine or
Jane looks so silly next to it, given the biblical story. But something equally exotic might look like you are trying to hard. Hmmm. How about:
Salome Lilia /
LiliasSalome Lilith (too "bad girl?")
Salome RubySalome GarnetSalome PearlSalome VioletteSalome VeroniqueSalome GiseleSalome PascaleSalome IndiraSalome TamarSalome TanithSalome ValeriaSalome DamarisSalome IsidoraSalome Amarantha (too exotic, perhaps?)
Salome DemetriaSalome Hesper (= setting sun)(too "out there?")
Salome Mirabel (= miracle)
Salome IsobelSalome RuxandraSalome RoxanneSalome NataliaSalome Tatiana
Could any of these work for you? Good luck!
