Modern Persian form of Avestan 饜饜瑠饜饜瑤 饜饜瑎饜饜瑎饜 (Vohu Manah) meaning "good mind". This was the name of a Zoroastrian god (one of the Amesha Spenta) associated with domestic animals. The eleventh month of the Iranian calendar was named for him.
