Meaning & History

From the name of a type of holy grass used in certain religious ceremonies, etymology uncertain. In the Hindu epic the Ramayana, Kusha is a son of Rama and Sita and the older twin brother of Lava. This is also the name of a king of the legendary Lunar dynasty (Chandravamsha) mentioned in several Hindu texts.
