One floral name that I don't like. It's a little too frilly.
This is becoming a trendy name, and I actually like it! It's a lovely flower with a strong floral symbology. The name sounds strong yet feminine. There are several good nicknames to choose from. Good choice!I am reminded of a very strong character from The Orphan Master's Son named Li Mongnan. A character in the book claims that Mongnan means "Magnolia." "Moglan" is the transliteration on Glosbe Korean.
This name sounds like it belongs on a character from a children’s book and tbh I like that energy.
Magnolia is a very lovely name. I like Maggie as a nickname, Lia is also ok. This name is very pretty and I will consider it for a future daughter name.
I have a Magnolia tree in my yard, would love to use Magnolia as a name myself. Whoever is named Magnolia is very lucky to have it.
Who knew the flower could be so sweet but the word could be so ugly? Really, if you wanna try and use this for the nickname Maggie, try Margaret. (Which I honestly dislike both of these.)
Cute! I love Magnolias. They smell like lemons. This name is very pretty, indeed.
Reminds me of pasta.
Well, I like the name Magnolia, if I'm honest. I don't know why but it has a kind of air... stately, perhaps? I don't know how to explain it, as a mature and elegant woman. Normally flower inspired names like Lily, Daisy, Rose, Ivy... are usually adorable and childish names but Magnolia sounds more adult but not too old. And elegant, like that of a woman who has been carefully educated and used to the best. It's weird, but refreshing and pretty at the same time.As for nicknames, I do like Maggie, but I know it's too ordinary and honestly a name as unique as Magnolia deserves to have an equally unique nickname so it's not a waste. After all, why would you go to the trouble of calling your daughter Magnolia if everyone is going to call her Maggie? So I vote for Nola. It's short, straightforward, pretty, and nice, not to mention that it's little used.
This will be THE next big thing, it is already appearing on lots of celeb baby name lists and rising like crazy. The flower is nice but this name is so overrated. Doesn't sound nice, rather harsh.
The flower is wonderful but the name sounds a bit harsh and unattractive and she might end up as just another Maggie.
I think this name is cute. Now I wouldn’t use it as a first name because I’m not particularly fond of the nickname Maggie, but definitely a middle name contender.
Very displeasing name.
Very pretty and feminine! I like the nickname Nola, but I hate the nickname Maggie.
Reminds me of "maggots."
I crush on this name a lot. It's not one that would ever make the final cut, but, it does linger on the bottom of my baby name list sometimes. The nickname Maggie with it is pretty perfect, too.
I like the combo of Magnolia Clementine.
This name is so exiting and beautiful! It is far from boring, and I love the uniqueness of the name. I would love to meet a Magnolia.
My friend has the pleasure of being named after some could say the best street in SoCal, Magnolia. To have such an epic name is a blessing, some could say, it's only given to those with a bright future. I'm glad to know someone named Magnolia.
My name is Magnolia. I go by Maggie. I loved this name ever since I was little and still love it as an adult!
My daughter is named Magnolia Florence and we call her Maggie or Magpie :) She loves her name and I find it elegant and whimsical and I knew the moment I saw her that Magnolia was a name that would always suit her no matter who she chose to be :)
It is also a popular paint colour. A neutral pale beige. The flower is much nicer. But I hear Magnolia and I think paint!
Magnolias are lovely flowers, though I don't think I like it that much as a name.
Maggie and Lia are cute nicknames for Magnolia.
Very pretty. I really like this name.
I think this name is just lovely. It's different and feminine. A beautiful "flower" name. It's a character in the play/movie "Showboat." It's on my name list. I think Maggie, Nola/Nolie, or Lia would be a wonderful nn. Love!
I find the name Magnolia quirky, elegant, beautiful, and whimsical. It's a new favorite of mine (so new I just added it to my list last night!). I think Maggie is a precious nickname, and Nola is sweet, too.
Er, no. This name is very ugly and harsh sounding, like the name Petunia. Skip it.
I personally am very fond of flower names. There is just something about Magnolia that is strong and elegant, yet soft and sweet. The name is gorgeous! A good nickname is Nolee.
Someone above me said Maggie wouldn't be a good nickname because people would think it was Margaret, but wouldn't that be a nice surprise? "Hi, I'm Maggie." "Short for Margaret, right?" "No... Magnolia." "Wow, that's so pretty!" It would be totally unexpected!
Magnolia is a strong name, it's a little bit over the top girly, but it has a wonderful meaning. Magnolia is okay with the nicknames Mag, Maggie, Nola, Nolia, Lia and Noli.
This is a very nice name. I like it so much I named the protagonist in my story Magnolia, although she is called Mag. Like my character, I think Magnolia fits a baby, toddler, kid, teen, and adult.
There is a comment above this that talks about a character in a novel he/she is writing that is named Magnolia. My main female character is also named Magnolia. I find the name to be elegant and beautiful, and yes, very girly. I did this on purpose. The character has a mother that wants her daughter to become a "lady." Translation- she wants her to be, as it is known, "a girly-girl." The name can be used for someone like this, but it can also be used for a strong female protagonist. In conclusion, the name can be used for many purposes, and it still sounds unique, sophisticated, and charming.
I'm starting to like the sound of Indigo Magnolia.
A big and beautiful rare name. I salute anyone brave enough to use it.
This is a pretty name because of the flower, but Maggie wouldn't be a good nickname because people would assume it was Margaret.
I like magnolias as trees/flowers, and as a name it's interesting. It sounds too stately and dignified to me though.
The Magnolia is the state flower of Louisiana. It's one of my favorite flowers; they smell so good! I actually like this as a name. Maggie and Noli would make cute nicknames for it in my opinion.
