What a pretty and lovely meaning. The name itself is pretty as well.
Zyanya (see-yan-ya) came from the Aztec Princess meaning always and forever, a diminutive form of the name Zyanya is Zyani (see-ya-knee).
Both Beautiful names!
My sister was named after Zyanya but my parents decided to alter the spelling to "Xania".
Hi! A fellow Zyanya here.
My dad also named me Zyanya after a princess in a book, and on my 16th birthday I was given this book. The book is called Aztec by Gary Jennings. I have done my fair share of research on this name, and from what I have seen, Zyanya was supposedly a Zapotec princess. Although the name comes from a book called Aztec, the name is actually Zapotec which is a pre-Colombian indigenous group that resided in modern-day Oaxaca. It means “forever and always” and most of my life I’ve let people call me Zee-on-yuh, but my father/family says it is actually Cyahn-yah.
Oh my gosh this name is beautiful! :-O.
Nayeli Zyanya, "I love you forever", would really be a lovely combo!
It's Zapoteco, not Nahuatl. [noted -ed]
I love this name! It is so pretty and unique and I have never heard of it before. Until now!
My name is Zyanya and you pronounce it SEE-ON-JA. My mom read this name in a book, I'm not sure what book it is, but Zyanya is a princess and it means forever and always.
Means "Always, Forever" People think that it comes from the language Nahuatl, but in reality it is from a nation called the Mixtecs located in central Mexico, Mixtecs means "the cloud people" and the language is totally different from Nahuatl.
The term Mixtec (Mixteco in Spanish) comes from the Nahuatl word Mixtecapan, or "place of the cloud-people". The area in which Mixtec is spoken is known as the Mixteca. The Mixtecs call themselves "ñuu savi".
I used this name in a short story I wrote, and it caught people's attention becouse you didn't hear it every day. I love it!
The actual full meaning is 'a declaration of one's undying love and respect for each other' in a shorter version; always and forever. It's from an Aztec tribe called the Cloud People. She was the daughter of the king and queen (therefore she was a princess.)
I love learning Native American names. I wouldn't use them as first names because I'm not Native American but as middle names I would. Zyanya is a really pretty name.
So pretty and such a lovely meaning!
