[Opinions] Seth? WDYT?
I love the name Seth (for a boy) but I'm concerned it has too many connections with the show The OC. I don't want him to be asked all his life "Oh, are you named after Seth Cohen?" What do you think?

I love this name too. I don't think the Seth Cohen connections are something to really worry about, if you love the name so much, then use it. I don't watch The OC, but I wouldn't let a tv character put me off the name, especially such a great name.

I love the name Seth. I wouldn't think of the OC, it didn't occur to me until you said it. My friend's brother is called Seth and the first thing that popped into my head when she told me was "Cool name!"

I like the name. And I don't think O.C. has that much staying power that it will be an issue later on.

I don't know the show & Seth Cohen, but I don't like the evil Egyptian god connotation.

My brother name is Seth. I think that it is a very nice name. I dont think he will have any problems with the OC because by the time hes in middle school or hs the show prob wont be aroudn any more and if it is it will be for the adults who used to watch it when they were kids (us) and our kids will think that it is an old persons show like I think when my mom watches soap operas. So no I dont think that you will have any problems with the name Seth.Nikki :)Proud Mama! See My Profile!

I like it, I think the Seth Cohen thing is not that bad; before he came along I always associated the name Seth with the old guy from Emmerdale (too much TV?)I have never heard of a Seth, I think it is more popular in the US than the UKAlice
My favourite names are Henry Atticus, Iris Audrey, Lyra Isabel and Finn GabrielProud big sister to Sophie and Isabel

I don't care for Seth - it sounds odd to me, and I don't find it masculine. I don't watch the TV show The O.C., so I didn't even know there was a character named Seth, but even if I did watch the show, I don't associate characters with names and other people. And not everyone watches that show, so I doubt that into his 70s, he'll be asked if he is Seth Cohen. And, if by an off chance people did ask that, who cares, really?

Well, as far as I see, the name wasn't totally unknown before the TV show. It may make the name more popular, but I don't believe anyone will think he is named after the character.Seth is a very nice name, one of my favourite Biblical names, so if you like it, go for it!
