[Opinions] Geraldine
I just came to the realization that I love this name.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the Scottish band Glasvegas have made a beautiful song about a social worker named "Geraldine" and I'm obsessing over this song at the moment.
The chorus goes like this:
I will turn, I will turn your tide
Do all that I can to heal you inside
I will be the angel on your shoulder
My name is Geraldine, I'm your social worker - I think it's some beautiful lyrics and the Scottish accent just makes this name even more appealing/endearing.I know Geraldine might be considered horribly old-fashioned, but that doesn't bother me at all; in fact I tend to like names that would fit into the category of 'stuffy old lady names'!However; I can't come up with any combos... Can you?
If Geraldine had a sister named Rosemary Kate what would be Geraldine's middle name?

Oh, I love Geraldine. Mainly because my grandfather's name was Gerald, but still. My combo is Claudia Geraldine. It also makes me think of The Vicar of Dibley, and I haven't quite decided if that is a good or bad thing lol. Some ideas:
Geraldine Alice
Geraldine Diana
Geraldine Claire
Geraldine Edme
Geraldine Helen
Geraldine Iris
Geraldine Johanna
Geraldine Rachel
Geraldine Sophia
Geraldine Vera

Geraldine Hazel
Geraldine Clara
Geraldine Celia
Geraldine Maya

I like it!It's one of those cool old-fashioned names though. It has a neat sort of flair to it.With something simple and plain like Kate paired with Rosemary, I'd do the same for Geraldine. Like Geraldine Elizabeth, Geraldine Jane (if you like the alliteration), Geraldine Sarah, Geraldine Beth, Geraldine Hannah, Geraldine Anna, Geraldine Alice.

I do think it comes off a bit too old-lady to me, and you're talking to someone who would use the names Esther, Edith, and Maxine in a heart beat. But the think that's worst about this name for me is that it leaves her with no nickname options, unless you get creative about it. I have a feeling a lot of kids will fine this name unfamiliar and funny too. I can completely respect this name in the mn spot, where I think it would work nicely, but I wouldn't risk using it as a first name.
