I think it's just peachy. Pippa is a doll of a NN.

I was at school with a couple of Philippas, both very nice girls indeed so I grew up thinking it was normal and lovely. Both went by Pippa, but I think the longer form is more usual now. Rhythm-wise, I'd prefer Philippa Sarah, though a lot depends on the ln and I'm no fan of Sarah.

As a middle name, I think the only combo I have it in is May Philippa.

Philippa used to be in my top ten, and I still like it. I just like other names more. :)

I probably wouldn't use it but only because I do have other names that I like a bit better. There's nothing wrong with the actual name. Maybe I'd still consider it as a mn.

Philippa works really well as both a fn and a mn.

I've come to love Philippa too. It took a while and the darling nn Pippa helped out a lot. But in the end what convinced me was the light, airy, staccato quality of it. It's so much fun to say out loud. It's the same bouncy joy I get from Winifred, Hilary and Cecily.

I like it, and Sarah Philippa is very nice. I have a friend called Philippa who's usually known as Flip, and my cousin has it as a middle name, as her father is Philip. There was also someone on the German side of my family called Philippina - I'm guessing that's not common in Germany now?

I respect Philippa, but I wouldn't say I like it. It's very, very British and upper-crust. There's nothing wrong with that, but a girl named Phillipa would be completely out-of-place in my family.

I actually considered Philippa/Filippa for a moment for our baby; love it but then thought it too aristocratic to use :-) But I still keep coming back to it... We're most likely having a boy, though.

I really like this typically "boarding school" name, with nn "Pippa" (so much more stylish and enduring than Piper).

I really like it. I've only met one in my whole life. However I hate the nickname Pippa. Sarah Philippa flows well but Sarah is not my style. I like Sara Philippa, though.

I still like it but I used to love it. However I prefer Filippa which is more popular here in Sweden (#39 in 2008).

I like it. It sounds classy and timeless & fits a girl/woman of any age. I think it works both as a FN and MN. I know one Philippa, 8 yrs. old. Her sister's name is Mathilde.
