My mother's name is Mary, and I've decided that if I ever have a daughter I will most likely give her an honoring middle name. But which name to choose? I don't want to use just Mary. So my question is what is (or are) your favorite name(s) that are related to Mary in some way (through look, meaning, etc)?

I think Mary would be the best choice for a middle name. Anything else has been overdone. Look at these tasteful combos:

My favorite is Máire, and I also like Mair, Marie, and Maria.

I'm against using a variant of the honoring names, to me that's not honoring. So I would go with Mary. Or Marie.

My mom's name is Mary too! My middle name is Marie after her (but I know lots of girls my age are named Marie, but mine is for a reason at least, haha). I've thought of using Mary related names as a way of "passing it down" and starting a tradition type thing in my family. Anyway, here are some of my favorite Mary-related names:

I like the name Mary, but I wouldn't want to use it because it is my mother's exact name. I'd want to find something that's similar but just a little bit different. :)

There are also the contractions of Mary + another name, like Maryse, Mylene or Marisa.
And Mario and Marius, if you have a boy. ;)

Oh, I love just Mary! There are a lot of people with Mary or a form of Mary in my family (both of my grandmothers and my sister, for starters), so I'll definitely be using it or some form of it.
