[Opinions] Mira
What do you think of the name Mira? I used to hate it, but it's really grown on me lately and now I think it's lovely. I don't really like Miranda, but do you think it's too nicknamey? It could also be a nickname for Amira, but I prefer just Mira. Another problem could be that it means 'look' or some variation of that in a lot of languages. Do you think that's a problem? Middle name ideas?
I've thought of Mira Alexandra and Mira Caroline, but neither seem perfect. Thanks in advance!

Love, Love, Love it! Haha, but of course I'm sure you already knew that. I just love the sound of it and while I normally prefer names with only one meaning, Mira has several beautiful meanings, and yes it is used as a word as well and means various things. If you would like more information on it's meanings in various languages, as a name and a word, I'd be happy to share the info with you.
Also, if you prefer it as only a nickname, here are some names it could be used for:Almira
Amira
Ashmira
Aymira
Edelmira
Kasimira
Krasimira
Mira
Mirabel
Mirabella
Mirabelle
Miranda
Mirari
Palmira
Radomira
Samira
Shamira
Vladimira
Zamira
ZvonmiraMira Alexandra is beautiful! I think it sounds better paired with a longer middle name, although I would use it with Ruth as a namesake.Suggestions:
Mira Amabel
Mira Isabel
Mira Seraphina
Mira Raina
Mira Sophia
Mira Eleanor
Mira Elizabeth
Mira Elena
Mira Helena
Mira Amelia

I've really like the name Mira ever since I watched an adaptation of the book 'Daniel Deronda' on TV, his love intrest is named Mirah Lapidoth and she has a beautiful voice! So I really like the spelling Mirah but Mira is also really pretty. I used Mira for a heroine in a story I wrote once. Mira Alexandra is really pretty, Mira Caroline looks kind of blah. What about:
Mira Louise
Mira Gwendolyn (Gwendolen Harleth was Mirah's rival)
Mira Isabel
Mira Charlotte
Mira Abigail
Mira Rose
Mira Sophie
Mira Jade
Mira JulietWDYTO these? :)Image hosted by Photobucket.com

'Tis my niece's name.It is short for Miranda, though. However, she has never once gone by Miranda, and her parents now wish they had given her the name by itself. The only language that I know of in which Mira means "look" is Spanish. I'm not sure that is a problem, though. I love Mira Emilia. Elizabeth
