[Opinions] Isolde
I really like Evelyn as name for my first hypothetical daughter, and in a hypothetical world, if she had a sister, I would consider naming her Isolde. I'm curious how other people pronounce it, I've been saying ee- zawl - dah, would this be correct? What to do people think of the name?I'm not sure what combinations I'd have with it. I've combo'd Evelyn Helene Rose (Helene is honouring). I'd have two middle names for Isolde as well, and I like Anne as the second middle name, which is honouring. The only combo I've had so far is Isolde Bethany Anne. I really like the 'ee' ending sound following how I've been saying it. Some other names I've considered in the spot are Melanie, Phoebe and Cecily, but I'm not really sold on any. Thank you in advance for any thoughts or suggestions :)

I say "i-ZOL-də" and think it's a lovely name. Of your options, I best like Isolde Cecily Anne, followed by Isolde Bethany Anne. Evelyn Helene Rose is gorgeous. A few more ideas to toss around...Isolde Clarice Anne (Clarice pronounced to rhyme with Paris)
Isolde Alys Anne or Isolde Alice Anne
Isolde Betony Anne ("BET-nee", a minty herb)
Isolde Elspeth Anne
Isolde Embeth Anne
Isolde Georgie Anne
Isolde Iris Anne
Isolde Ivy Anne
Isolde Glynis Anne
Isolde Gwyneth Anne
Isolde Judith Anne
Isolde Lucy Anne
Isolde Margaret Anne
Isolde Naomi Anne
Isolde Sylvie Anne

Isolde Winifred Anne -- solid and wispy at the same time. Love, love it. Isolde Gwyneth Anne and Isolde Glynis Anne are peachy!

I love Evelyn SO much right now. Evelyn Helene Rose is beautiful!
Isolde is really nice too, I like it loads. I'm not really sure there's a standard English pronunciation, I would say it iz-ol-dah (ah like in about). Isolde Bethany Anne is pretty nice, I'm not exactly sure if Bethany goes with Isolde but it brings it down to earth. Isolde Phoebe Anne would be nice enough, even though I really dislike Phoebe. And Isolde Cecily Anne is really pretty, a little bit lacy. The only one that doesn't work for me is Melanie. Some more suggestions (sorry for repeats, I should be working right now!):
Isolde Elizabeth Anne
Isolde Mary Anne
Isolde Euphrasie Anne
Isolde Rosalie Anne
Isolde Eluned Anne
Isolde Lily Anne
Isolde Muriel Anne
Isolde Ottilie Anne
Isolde Eleri Anne
Isolde Rosemary Anne

Thanks!Melanie and Phoebe don't really work for me, now that I think of it. They don't seem right, and Bethany was just the first thought... I like Cecily, but you're right about it looking a bit lacy. Thank you for your suggestions, i really love:Isolde Euphrasie Anne
Isolde Lily Anne
Isolde Eleri Anne
Isolde Florence Anne
Isolde Eirlys Anne
Isolde Brigid Anne
and Isolde Willow Anne!

Ooooh. Isolde Muriel Anne is so elegant, yet grounded too. And Isolde Myrtle Anne tickles my toes. Wait. Do I spy Liadan and Blathnat? Holy Celtic ruins, Yasmine. Those combos are very dear to my heart. Isolde Bridie Anne is too, too cute.

Isolde Mary Anne and Isolde Violet Anne are both lovely. :)

I adore Isolde. It ticks so many boxes for me. It's Celtic, from folklore, begins with an "i," and sounds lovely. I say it the same way you do, except more of a straight "O" sound in the middle (I'm in the U.S.). Your way is just as nice.
Isolde Cecily Anne is wonderful. Isolde Phoebe Anne would be my second pick from your choices. A few more for your consideration:Isolde Verity Anne
Isolde Genevieve Anne
Isolde Lorelei Anne
Isolde Myfanwy Anne
Isolde Eugenie Anne
Isolde Catherine Anne
Isolde Marjorie Anne
Isolde Bryony Anne
Isolde Valerie Anne
Isolde Marion Anne
Isolde Carys Anne
Isolde Seraphine Anne
Isolde Hyacinth Anne
Isolde Juniper Anne
Isolde Coralie Anne

I'm not usually a fan of Eugenie but Isolde Eugenie Anne is stunning. :)

Isn't that the best? When a combination can make you like a name you never thought you would? I'm glad Isolde Eugenie Anne pleases you. Thanks for sharing that. :-)

I love Isolde Mallory Anne and Isolde Bryony Anne! Isolde Mallory is so Arthurian without being all OTT. Isolde Bryony is just out of a fairy tale.

Why thank you. *kisses*
ETA: Ooopsie. Sir Thomas Malory used one "L," not two. Then why do I look at Mallory as the traditional spelling? Hmmm. Isolde Malory Anne. What do you think?

I adore this name!It is timeless, classic and beautiful
As far as pronounciation goes:IH-sahlt
I-sol-deh (sol as in isolation)... The second might be terribly wrong in English
but in Sweden it works really well!

The second one is pretty much how I say it, I also pronounce Helene with the 'eh' at the end. I don't really like the English one, and I'll probably run the risk of having to say how to pronounce all it all the time...

Evelyn Helene Rose is gorgeous, I love it!I like Isolde. I say iz-OHL-dee, but I don't know if that's correct. Since it can be hard for people to know how to pronounce it, that's something to consider when choosing a name.Isolde Bethany Anne is lovely, but not as nice as Evelyn Helene Rose - I think Bethany isn't quite right. Other suggestions (not all ending in an -ee sound) are:Isolde Melody Anne
Isolde Willow Anne
Isolde Calliope Anne
Isolde Rosalie Anne
Isolde Julie Anne - or Julianne?
Isolde Katherine Anne
Isolde Marjorie Anne

I'm glad you think the same about Evelyn Helene Rose, I adore it.I think the way I pronounce it is considered the German way, much like how I pronounce Helene, with the last e make that slight 'ah' sound. My Oma's from Germany. I'm in Australia though so I'm worried about how people would pronounce it. Pronunciation is one of the reasons Helene is in the middle name spot, so I'd be going back on my words a bit with Isolde. Isolde Rosalie Anne was one of my first thoughts, until I remembered the other combo. I don't really want to repeat the Rose, but it is a lovely combo on its own.I really like Isolde Melody, Isolde Willow and Isolde Calliope Anne. Thank you! :)
