[Opinions] Geraldine, Carolyn, Patricia
Which of these three names would you choose for a daughter? What would you use for a middle name? How would you rank them from best to worst? **Starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam/Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine, and a side order of ham**

Carolyn. Patricia is pretty, but Pat and Trisha and Patty are kinda ugly. Especially Pat, I hate Pat as a nickname even for Patrick. Geraldine is kind of clunky, but I don't hate it. Carolyn Ione

The short answer is, I wouldn't. But, in Fantasyland, perhaps there's a time machine that could take me back to whenever they were OK - late 40s, early 50s where I live. And then I'd use Carolyn, for personal reasons. Followed by Geraldine and then Patricia.Patricia would be first by a country mile if it could be trusted to stay Patricia and not morph into versions of Pat and Trish.Carolyn Helen? Carolyn Joanna? Carolyn Patricia, why not?

Geraldine 10/10
Carolyn 5/10
Patricia 3/10I'm absolutely infatuated with Geraldine, I'm not sure why but I love the sound and the spear meaning. It's got a vigor and liveliness akin to Bernadette or Henrietta, but doesn't feel matronly to me like those do.Maybe...

Putting aside datedness, Patricia is elegant sounding. The nicknames are not. I dislike Trish, Trisha, Pat, and Patty. In and of itself, Patricia is 8/10. The nicknames vary from 2/10 to 3/10. Carolyn is okay. Caroline is more classic and ageless. I’ve known more Carolyns than Patricias or Geraldines, so it is harder to consider objectively. 6.5/10Geraldine is clunky and awkward and not in an endearing way like Josephine. It sounds stuffy and precocious at the same time. It isn’t terrible or haggish like Agatha or as strictly old lady like Ethel, so 5/10. If I had to pick one, then Carolyn with the nickname Caro.

I might name a cow Geraldine, if she was an especially troublesome cow. Yikes.
I like both Patricia and Carolyn. I think I'd choose Carolyn, at least nobody'd call her Patty.Carolyn GraceCarolyn PaigeCarolyn RebeccaCarolyn Amber
