[Opinions] Andromeda
I've recently been getting into Andromeda. It's such a statement name, and even cooler when you get into astronomy. The only potential drawback, for me, is the nickname Andi / Andie. Since it's such a long name, is Andi inevitable? Could another nickname potentially stick? Also, do you have any combo ideas? Right now I'm running with Andromeda Faye, and Faye is such a filler in the middle name slot, but... I don't want to make it "too much," you know? Then again, maybe I should just go all out.***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381

I also really like Andromeda! I would add a strong ethnic middle name that is short and sweet. I love Celtic or Irish middles. Here are some ideas:
Andromeda Maeve
Andromeda Neve
Andromeda Elle
Andromeda Eilís(like Alice)
Andromeda Agnes

I like it a lot. I’d use “Romy” as the nickname, as I dislike Andi too. Anna/Annie could also work.

Believe it or not I actually came across an Andromeda once! It was a woman a few years older than myself, she reported occasionally using the NN "Me/May". I really like it and consider it in the category of very strong female names. If someone asked me for a cluster of names that made me think of a Female warrior this would be in the list.

Andromeda Bridget has an unexpected charm to it. I've also been thinking about the flow of Andromeda Sylvie. (And another response mentioned Andromeda Celeste, too.)

I absolutely adore Andromeda. My partner unfortunately said no way. The combo I was pushing was Petra Andromeda, so how about the reverse Andromeda Petra? I'd call her Annie.

I also love this name. I think that any nickname would ruin its beauty, so just go by Andromeda, its complete and solemn form.
As other people have said, Faye is way too weak next to Andromeda.
I also suggest combos with short names:
Andromeda Sylvia or Silvia
Andromeda Alexa
Andromeda Delia
Andromeda Lily
Andromeda Lilith
Andromeda Rose
Andromeda Daphne
Andromeda Jade.

I love Andromeda! It's such a strong, striking name, but it still feels familiar and, oddly enough, somewhat down to earth. I think Andromeda Faye is perfect, and Faye is the right balance of more common, but with a good deal of magic and whimsy in there by definition. Plus Faye isn't the most overused filler imo, so it's somewhat unexpected. For nns I don't think you can completely guarantee Andie won't crop upp, but you could use some others to introduce more options. My favourite is Ro, but there's Rom/Romy, Meda, Edie, Eda (Ee-da), Emmy, Demi, Anna/Anne/Annie, Daffy or Effie (with Faye).

I knew a Rosanne once whose nn was Ro. This was fine until her baby nephew, who adored her, used to trot round the house hopefully calling "Woe, Woe" as if he was heralding a disaster instead of an aunt.

Daffy? How do you get it from Andromeda? Also, it sounds way too masculine because of Duffy Duck. And the affinity between Daffy and Duffy would cause a bunch of jokes.

Andromeda Faye --> Daffy. It is a stretch and I'm not much of a fan, but it's fun coming up with creative nns.

Love! It's gorgeous. I prefer Andromache, though.Andromeda Faye doesn't work for me because Faye becomes kind of pathetically humdrum next to Andromeda. Some suggestions:Andromeda Cecilia / Cecile
Andromeda Louisa
Andromeda Violet
Andromeda Chloe
Andromeda Zoe
Andromeda Helen
Andromeda Lucy
Andromeda Mathilde
Andromeda Vivien

I thought about Andromeda Carys earlier, but that one got a poor response at the polls...I hadn't considered Andromeda Celeste or Andromeda Xanthe before, though. I like them! Andromeda Raven and Andromeda Sage are interesting, too.

It's beautiful, but a bit of a mouthful. I love this name too. Someome really has to pull this name off. But I suppose Ill put into some suggestions. Some of them dont go well together or are basic. I think one syllable or 2 syllable short middle names work best.Andromeda Violet (my favorite)Andromeda ClaireAndromeda SkyeAndromeda LarkAndromeda EveAndromeda ErinAndromeda Ruby
