I checked the historical chart for England and Wales and Olivia wasn't among the 100 most common names in the 40's.
Then I checked forebears.io (I know this source isn't 100% reliable) and seems that Olivia wasn't even among the top 450.

I guess Newton-John was the only Olivia in her class. I'm surprised that it was rare in the UK.

Here in Spain, Olivia is trying to be the most common name for a girl, just as in the States. In 2021, it was ranked #12. I hope it falls in popularity - I want to use it.

I have a relative named Olivia, with a family ln as her mn; she always goes by Olive.

When I was a little girl, Olivia wasn't nearly as popular as it is now. Sure, I knew a couple Olivia's here and there but it was no Emily or Jessica. So I think that allowed me to formulate an opinion outside the scope and length prior to hyper- exposure. My classmate Olivia was a very fashionable, pretty but painfully shy girl who was otherwise a wallflower in many ways. I thought her name was very pretty & fitted her personality to a T in comparison to several of our classmates names in a sea of Kelly, Kelsey, Kaley, Caitlin, Carrie, etc etc. I was so painfully sick of the C and K names that were fashionable at the time that Olivia felt fresh and rejuvenating. Now, I am a little tired of how often I see it but it is my favorite of the top girl names largely in part because it follows the particular theme for my taste of syllable count, -ia suffix and flare, in which it meets all these criteria. I've noticed and reflected in the past how similar in sound and overall vibe to me Olivia is to one of my top favorites: Lavinia, which feels a bit like anagrams of one another. In fact I've actually even given thought to the possibility of a Lavinia being misheard for an Olivia regularly because of the popularity of Olivia in comparison to the near non-existent numbers to Lavinia, and weighing the possibilities of this confusion in day to day life and it's inconvenience as a result. Regardless, I do really like the name Olivia. Though I wish it would tucker out a bit to preserve it's beauty to me it does have it's earned place in the pantheon of classical lineups. Rest in Peace, Newton-John.

I would probably use a similar combination; Olivia Rose or Olivia Paige, hypothetically. I would never be able to use it in actual life, although I do think it's a real lovely name.

Olivia was a name I really enjoyed growing up. I had a friend a few years younger than I was named Olivia, so her parents were a bit ahead of the curve. Now, the name is way too popular for me to ever consider it as a first name, but it could still be a middle. I'd use it in the combo Charlotte Olivia Florence if Charlotte weren't so blasted popular, as well. :-P

I wouldn’t use this name because it’s the name of my cousin. It seems to be very popular. It had a surge around the time I was born, but I never heard it that much. That was, until around 2011, I heard of many baby Olivia’s. Regardless, I can totally see why it’s gotten so popular; it’s a solid name, imo. It’s very classy and it rolls off the tongue nicely. I used to have a toy named Olivia (after my cousin, lol). The toy had the full name of Olivia Rose. Nowadays, idk if I’d use that combination. Lol.
