[Opinions] Sasha
What does everyone think about this name? It’s mostly feminine in English speaking countries but in Russia and other Slavic countries it’s a diminutive of Aleksandr and used for boys.
Do you like it as a girls name? Or do you prefer it for boys?
And what middle names would you use for a girl Sasha Nicole

I love it as a girl name, because it’s so unique and different where I am. For a boy, I think it could also work; there’s no denying its masculine origins. As a middle name, I’d choose Sasha Roxanne, Sasha Lenore, Sasha Nadine, Sasha Leanne, Sasha Maven, Sasha Maria, and Sasha Daisy.

I like the name Sasha. I see it mainly has unisex. In French too, it used to be a mostly masculine. I know in French the masculine form was also spelled Sacha. The singer Sacha Distell was a famous bearer. Maybe it's the American media having an influence on us, but I have seen it given mainly to girls in the last two decades and way less to boys.

As far as I know it's 100% unisex diminutive in Russia. Just like Zhenya. In my experience, I've met a lot of Sashas who are both boys and girls. So, I definitely see this name as unisex. But, as a standalone name, I think it better suits a girl. (Soft sound, -a ending, I can see why I'm leaning towards girl name)
For some reason, it gives me a French name vibe, even though Sacha is masculine in France according to BtN. Sasha Leonie

Growing up there was a boy named Sasha and a girl names Sacha in my class. He was of Russian descent.I like it on a boy, but I think in most Western countries it would be easier on a girl. I think it's very youthful. Sasha Maria

It's sort of mildly cute on a human female, though a bit 1990s-bikini-model/Playmate vibes.
But for me, Sasha is mainly a cat's name. I had a (very beautiful but very mean) cat named Sasha about twenty years back. And I've known several other people who named cats Sasha (though I doubt any of those were as evil-tempered as mine.)

I love it on a boy and spelled Sacha. It feels frivolous as a girl's name. Sasha Lillian
