in reply to a message by Elena
1. Delphine It sounds too much like Dolphin (which I'm pretty sure it means).
2. Etta I love this as a nickname for stuff like Henrietta and Marietta, but not alone.
3. Edwina no. Eww. No.
4. Flossie as a nickname for Florence, maybe...
5. Georgiana yes. So much yes. It's gorgeous.
6. Ione it's pretty, so yes.
7. Lelia I've never heard of this name, but I like it.
8. Lucinda sounds like a middle-aged woman with long red nails and frosted blond hair.
9. Mamie no. Reminds me of the word mammary.
10. Odessa it's a city, and I'm not a huge fan of place-name first names.
11. Opal it's cute.
12. Petra I don't see this as an old fashioned name, as I've met several young Petras.
13. Polly not a fan, but it's not awful. Just nms, I guess.
14. Tillie I love love this name as a nickname for Matilda, but with a y instead of an ie.
15. Winifred Winnie is a really cute nickname, but by itself Winifred is ugly.
