My dislike of -een names (
Eileen,
Doreen) extends to
Jacqueline, which I'm afraid was probably pronounced Jackweleen.
Carol is somewhat OK, but that -ole spelling kills it.
Marion would be improved as
Marianne.
Sheila should be pretty - it's such a quiet name, impossible to shout - and I do prefer it to
Shirley, just, but I wouldn't use either.
