I think nicknames should be left up to the child - not planned by the parent(s). I don't care for the name
Madeline (I pronounce it as
Mad-uh-line, and I'd pronounce
Leni as would the name
Lenny, but I don't see it coming from the name
Madeline. But, as I said, I don't think these things should be planned, as the child may not even want a nickname, or might not want that one, and all that time and energy will be wasted.
