[Opinions] Florian
I saw it in a post the other day and have since fallen completely in love with it.
What is everyone else's opinion of Florian?-Seda*

I like the sound of it as I like a lot of names that end in ian
ie Emilian Julian Adrian Hadrian Valerian
The weird thing is I dislike the actual name Ian

Wow...I've never heard of Valerian. How do you pronounce it? I think I like it.-Seda*

va-LEER-ee-an, according to BtNBut I tend to pronounce it va-LER-ee-an. Another possibility could be VAL-u-ree-an.

I love itThough I doubt it would go well down in USA. I have a feeling a boy must be very macho and have a very dull and common name, otherwise he'll get teased. Probably people would say it is "sissy" b/c it is close to Flora.

I love it; it sounds noble, and whoever bears that name seems like he ought to be an independent, intelligent, man.

Sorry but I don't like it - it's got a very poncy feel to it. I also dislike the "fl" sound in general - I dislike Flynn, Flann, anything like that._____________________________________________________________________"My universe is laced around your wrist; I am the bracelet you sport."Elinor

I love the name Florian. I consider it quite masculine but, then, Vivian is another one of my favourite boys' names. Shannon

I'm assuming for a boy? It is OK but I do not know if a boy would really like it. It sounds kind of feminine to me. What would be a nn for it? Boys seem to like to give each other nicknames and Flo or Florrie would not fly well on a boy!!! Just might want to think about that before actually using it on a baby boy. For a grown man with a lot of self confidence it would be nice though. Or a character in a book maybe.

Well...I'm not having anymore children, so it would only be for a script character or something. Not a real person. :)-Seda*
