[Opinions] Inez?
This is a name I've been thinking about lately. I love the sound, but I'm thinking it might be too "out there" for actual use. So - WDYT of Inez?

I automatically want to pronounce it EYE-nez, but the description says it's ee-NES, which is awkward to say imo. But I do like it in theory. :b

I've always loved this one. It has an exotic flair to it. It's unusual, but people have heard of it before so I don't think of it as "out there."I love the Ines spelling as well. The only down side of this one is pronunciation. I've heard people use a long "i" sound, which grates on my ears like nails on a chalkboard.

To out there for what?Inez is a traditional name so I don't find it too "out there" at all. It is a beautiful name with a history.ln-as-fn are more "out there" to me than old but uncommon names.

Inez isn't so much old/uncommon as from another culture. In Australia it's virtually unknown.

I like it. It's much better than Agnes, imo, at least. I think it could work for actual use.

I have liked the name Inez off and on for the past couple of years or so. It does sound a bit exotic to me, but I think it could work.

For some reason, it sounds too surname-y to me. I don't think it's at all feminine.

My cousin's nn is Ines- I love it, but prefer this spelling. It's a beautiful mn if you wouldn't like it as a fn.

For my French class in sixth year, I had to read "Huis Clos", and one of the main characters was Inez. I hadn't really heard it before, so for me, this name is completely tied to her. If you haven't read the book, she's an awful namesake - a sadist. I don't find the sound that attractive either :-(I know one little boy and one little girl named Innes. Although not a favourite, I think this is much nicer._____________________________________________________________________"My universe is laced around your wrist; I am the bracelet you sport."Elinor

Inez: is not my style. Though I would like that not everyone would have the name, and don't consider it "too out there". I prefer Inez over Agnes. It is nice sounding when said out loud.:o)

I like Inez and Inés / Ines. It does have an exotic, ethnic sort of sound but I think enough people are familiar with it that it wouldn't be too "out there".Shannon
