[Opinions] Rose or Lily?
- Which do you prefer? - Do you think Liliana (Lily-ahna) with the occasional nn Lily is pretty?I never used to really like Lily but it's really grown on me lately. Even though Dh and I usually don't like nn's, we do like Lily and I think it sounds adorable with my DD's name. Thanks :)

I like Lily better. I like it as it's own formal name.

- Which do you prefer? I looove both. If forced to pick, I'd say Rose because it's my middle name.- Do you think Liliana (Lily-ahna) with the occasional nn Lily is pretty? YES! I LOVE it; it's gorgeous!

I love both Rose and Lily. I don't think Lily is just a nn anyway. I see it as a full name too. Liliana is not really my style. I think either Rose or Lily would sound nice with your DD's name.

Rose is nmsaa, but I LOVE Lily & Liliana.I prefer Liliana without a nickname, however, Lily as a nickname is very cute. And Lily on it's own is great too, despite the popularity.

As a fn, I LOVE Lily but it's getting a bit popular lately. :( So Liliana with the nn Lily would be great imo, as she'd have Liliana to "fall back on" so to speak; so she wouldn't be just another Lily. :) Rose has become such a filler mn lately, BUT I still find it gorgeous either as a fn or mn (though I find it especially refreshing as a fn, or part of a fn like Rosalie, Rosemary, etc.).

It's really pretty, I definetly like Lily better, as a name or nn. I like Liliana to, I also like:
Lilia
Lilianne
Lyly [still pronounced Lily, and I didn't make it up!]

I absolutely adore Liliana. I would call her Ana, but if you're stuk on Lily, I would spell it Lili.~*~*~*~

Lily is a formal name in itselfJust like Rose. Both are beautiful flowernames. I don't consider Lily as a nn at all (even though it can be used as a nn). Rose is less common but I prefer names with more syllables, so I would choose Lily. Lilian and Liliana are beutiful too.I also like longer Rose-names, like Rosemary, Rosalie, Rosalind, Rosamond."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I like both Lily and Rose but Lily is my favorite of the two
Liliana with the nickname Lily is beautiful,
I dont really go for themes in family names but at one time I confess I loved the idea of sisters Liliana ( Lily )and Rosalind (Rose )A childs smile is worth more to me than Gold

I prefer Rose to Lily. Lily just seems too much like a child's name and not mature to me.I don't like Liliana. I would prefer Lily as a full name.

Just FYI, I taught a little girl whose name is Lillie Ann (in other words, Lillian). Liliana is pretty, and so are Lilian, Lily and Lilla. For some reason, I'm really drawn to the combo Lilian Isabella, but it's probably too many l's for anyone else. :o) Of couse, Rose (and all the variations) are also very lovely. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. "The best mask for demoralization is daring." --Lucan

I like both names, but i don't like the idea of Liliana with Lily as a nn. I like Lily as a first name, not a nn. I love both names but, Lily and Rose, it would make a nice sibset.
