[Opinions] Nicole
What would your opinion of Nicole be if it hadn't been so popular over the last 40 (?) years? It's my first name and I dislike it for my own reasons, but I was thinking to myself that if it hadn't been so popular I might be able to like it. What nicknames connected with Nicole do you like?I also have another request. If you can, are there any combos using Nicole in the first name spot that you can come up with? It confuses me that all Nicole combos I see use trendy names, or the combos still feel trendy even if they don't. It's not as if it's trendy on the same level as Brayden or anything. It is a legitimate name. Any combos that you could come up with that don't seem trendy would be appreciated!

I'm Nicole as well. I don't hate my name, but I think it's pretty boring. Maybe because it's so popular (I had a best friend Nicole, my sister has a friend Nicole- it seems every second person is Nicole!)
I don't have a middle name either, just to make it more boring!

Its my name.I have disliked it too, becuase I found it too popular (and it's not even popular here....) and because of it "trashy" feel and also because when I heared the name I always thought of stupid blondes. But I ahve gotten used to it now, but I call myself Nicolina sometimes. When I was little eveyrone called me Nicki, and a friend of mine calls me Nick and Nille. But these days nearly everyone says Nicole and when I really want a nickname for myself I'm going with Ninor (Ni from nicole and Nor from the first tree letters of my surname).

I dislike its rhythm. There are very few spondees that I enjoy, and Nicole isn't one of them. (Only Louise and Suzanne that I can think of right now.) I do like Nicola, which has a light, dancing rhythm most unlike flat-footed Nicole.

I'm kinda neutral on Nicole, but it's a decent name and there are Nicoles that come to mind that give it positive associations.
Nicki is ok, but I prefer just Nicole or Nicola (which I think is pretty... hmmm... just hit me that Nicola Myfanwy might be pretty). I know someone named Amanda Nicole.Myfanwy Nicole

Thank you for your suggestions! A lot of these are great.Myfanwy Nicole -I love Myfanwy. This is a great combo, but I'd like Nicole Myfanwy even more.
N Anastasia -Really pretty. I like how the fullness of Anastasia and the sleekness of Nicole play off eachother.
Ruthanna N -I like Ruth Nicole or Nicola Ruth.
N Anneliese -Nicole Annelies is great too. Reminds me of Anne Frank.
Dominga N -This is so fun!
Esther N -Gorgeous
N Jessamine -I like Jessamine Nicole also.
Arisa N
Miyuki NI really like a lot of Japanese names, but I don't know that much about them. That being said, I'm surprised by how well Nicole sounds with the Japanese names you suggested. If you'd like to suggest some more I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

If there are any you specifically like, let me know and I'll give you kanji and meaning options. The nice thing about combining Nicole w/ Jpns. names is that the lack of "l" in Jpns. means you've no danger of matching endings.Erisa 恵里佐 ... or could just be Elisa w/ kanji since they don't distinguish between r and l in Jpns. Elisa Nicole would be quite pretty.Marika 茉莉香 (nice that westerners can say it w/out butchering it because there's a name w/ same sounds in the west)
Erika 恵里歌 (eh-ree-ka) dittoErina 恵里名 (eh-ree-na) This is pretty, but not sure I'd like it w/ Nicole... could be put on the side and combined w/ other names.Ayaka 礼歌

Nicole Abigail
Nicole Ivy
Nicole Rosemary

Ugh. Sometimes it seems like every girl that I know in my age group has the middle name Nicole. That being said, Nicole Abigail is awfully pretty. Abigail is actually growing on me lately, after a lifetime of disliking it. Thanks for the suggestions!

Thank you for responding! I know what you mean about the ending. I feel the same way about Margaret. So many of your combos are amazing. I like these:Nicole Roxane
Nicole Veronica
Nicole Serena
Nicole Maddalena -I also think Nicole Madeleine would be pretty, even though both names are common.
Nicole Patricia -My name and my grandma's name all in one!
Nicole Marguerite
Nicole Ariadne
Nicole Mireille
Nicole Anais ("ah-nah-EES")
Nicole Timothea
Nicole Fiammetta
Nicole Violette
Nicole Montserrat ("mohn-sehr-AHT")However, I LOVE these:Nicole Dominique, Nicole Severine, Nicole Sonnet, Nicole Evelyn, Nicole Rhiannon, Nicole Victorine, Nicole Winter, Nicole Briallen, Nicole Paulina, Nicole Astrid. All of these combos are exactly what I was looking for! They give Nicole such spunk. The idea of using noun names (like Winter or Sonnet) as well as Welsh names is great. This is what I wanted. It's Stevie Nicks cool, if you know what I mean. Thanks again!
