[Opinions] Nickname for Jeremiah
What's a good nickname for Jeremiah. I know it really doesn't need one, but I just wanted to see if there are any good ones out there.

JemIn the Outlander books there's a character named Jeremiah nn Jem. I love Jem as a nn for James, but it definitely can work for Jeremiah too.And I don't like it, but I went to school with a Jeremiah who got called Miah. The other two I've known didn't use a nickname.

Jer?I'd naturally just use the first syllable. Jer (to rhyme with "air").

Jerry seems to be the obvious one although I've never liked it. I did used to know a family with a ds named Jeremiah and they called him Miah which I'm not feeling either due to the feminine name, Maia / Maya. I read a novel once where the hero was called Jem as a nn. That could work. It does feel a tad feminine to me, however. Remy would be perfect, imo. WDYT?

I've never liked Jerry either, and I agree that Miah is too feminine. Jem and Remy are okay, though I prefer Remy spelled Remi. Thanks!

Good thing about Jeremiah is that it's long enough to give you a lot of options... How about:Jerry
Jem (my personal favorite)
Jamie
Jer
Jay
Remi
Jermie (maybe not, but still kind of cute ;) )
Jarmo
Miah

The Jeremiah I know just gets called Jer. I think Remi could work too. Or Miah, but that sounds feminine.Oh and then there's always Jem

Well, Jerry is obvious. Hm...maybe Jerem (basically just remove -iah)? Though, that sounds sort of like a name on it's own. Remy, perhaps?

Yeah, I know Jerry is obvious, but I'm trying to find a nickname for my little brother and I don't really like Jerry all that much. I can't find anything that's fit for a baby, is my problem. Thanks for the help, though!

I'm not a fan of Jerry, either. Sounds too much like a man in his 40's, not a child.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Best of luck!
