Its my all time favorite.

Adore it both on it's own and as a nn for Katherine, Katarina,Cathleen etc.
I also adore Cate as a nn for Catherine.

It's overdone; the new Katie.

too plain, maybe as a mn for a nice fn (Genevieve Kate) or I prefer it as a nn for Katherine, Kaitlyn, Katrina etc. :)

Only as a nn. As a full name, it's just sort of air-filled- Did that make any sense? I just mean, it's rather overused. I love Katharine though, and as a nn for that, it's just fine.

Nice, safe and boring to me. I think of "Jack and Kate" in Lost. I am sure they got these very popular names for a reason.

I agree, it is very nice as a nn or as it's own name. It is not frilly, or kre8tyv, but nice and simple and sweet. :o)
