[Opinions] WDYTO Blake
I really like this name for my son, what do you think of it? Blake has declined in 2004 from 2003, and is on a downward spiral. Why? The 2005 results haven't come out yet. Critique Blake. Thanks.

Blake's an attractive name. It has literary history and a nice, sharp sound. I really do like it--but only for a boy. :) It's common around here, so I'd never use it, but I'd rather see a, say, Blake Salvador than an Aedin Hunter.Array

I like the literary associationI think of the poet William Blake. But personally I find the name too short, I prefer longer fn."But it’s all right now.

Blake is a good middle name, kind of girly though. Would have to have a strong first name. (My opinion)

It's all right, but I think it just sounds odd. And for some reason I always picture a really snooty little blonde boy with it. It looks like you just put a B in front of "lake," too. Really, though, it's not bad. I used to like it.

It's dated to the 1980s and 90s, imo. And has a soap opera feel because of "Dynasty" (a popular character was named Blake Carrington). It's not a horrible name, though, and I've met a few little boys with this name that have kept me from hating it, despite its popularity and trendiness. Also be aware it's sometimes used for girls (I've met a few of those, too), but I can't for the life of me figure out why. :-/

I love Blake, I did a post on it a few days ago and got some really nice combos from one particular person, I can't remember who without looking! It is a nice short name but no so nicknamey. **miss_smiley**

I really like it. It's great. It has nice roots and someone the child can be proud of to be named after. Also, I know a little boy named Blake and he suits it perfectly, a little wild boy who climbs up everywhere with shoulder lenght dark brown hair. His mother is Indian, and he's a real monkey!
I love it!

I like it because it reminds me of William Blake.

I suppose it's okay. And, like Ylva said, I like the literary association with William Blake. It's one of the few surnames that I tolerate as a fn.
