[Opinions] Zelda
Zelda is a name I liked when I was a kid (mostly because of the video games, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch), and then I didn't think about it for a very long time. But while I tried, and failed, to get into The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Sabrina's one aunt is Zelda... which made me think about the name again. What do you think of Zelda? What impression does it give you? What would you pair with it?***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381

Zelda is a relative’s name and I like it because I like her. I think it’s an unusual name that’s not necessarily pretty but is attractive. It makes me think of a sensible and pleasant person. I think Zelda is fine with a soft-sounding mn...Zelda Marie

Zelda Marie doesn't sound bad, though I'm on a personal boycott of Marie as a middle name because it's the middle name of nearly every other woman I know my age and older.Zelda Katherine is nice. In playing around with spellings, I also like Zelda Catherine (though I usually prefer the K).

I really like Zelda, I think it's almost ready for a comeback in the manner of Hazel. I am feeling a -een name with Zelda.

I like Zelda Jacqueline, although I wouldn't use the "leen" pronunciation with Zelda I don't think.

I used to have the associations you have so I didn’t particularly consider it for a child’s name. It’s growing on me though. It’s got spunky turn of last century/1920s vibes for me now (and of course it’s coming back into fashion).Zelda Ruby (my fave)
Zelda Briony
Zelda Maeve
Zelda Margot
Zelda Rosemary / Rosamee / Rosalie
Zelda Mary?
Zelda Neve
Zelda Thisbe
Zelda Vivienne
Zelda Iris?
Zelda Phoebe
Zelda Zoe “ZZ” (this was random - is the combo hideous or could it work?)

I'm sorry, I'm going to have to say no to the Zelda Zoe combo since it reminds me too much of ZZ Top.I do, however, like Zelda Maeve, Zelda Margot / Zelda Margaux, Zelda Mary, and Zelda Phoebe.

It's probably due a small revival.I know twins named Oscar and Zelda (5, UK)Their parents are church ministers, not that that means anything.

My cousin's first daughter who just turned 6 (I think, 5 or 6) is Zelda. Her little sister is Freya. I can't remember either rof their middle names unfortunately.I really really like Zelda since my cousin picked it. It would never appear on my own list (unless I was doing an A-Z list, even then, Zoe might pip it). But I think it's strong and spunky; my cousin's daughter helps with this impression as she battles Moyamoya disease and is a very fierce little one.

I just looked up Moyamoya Disease, since I'd never heard of it before, and it does not sound fun! Poor girl.Zelda and Freya do make a nice sibset.

I never played the game or watched the Witch, so Zelda always said F Scott Fitzgerald to me: doomed flapper glamour. And I always had Grizelda in the back of my mind, and I didn't like that at all. Then, a friend and I were talking names, and he said that before his parents were parents, they were looking at a names list in a magazine and identified three names they liked, and later used, for possible future sons. I asked what they would have called him if he'd been a girl, and with laughter in his voice he said "Zilda". I queried it of course, and no, they didn't mean Zelda; they just liked it. Suddenly, Zelda became much more attractive than I'd ever thought possible. Though I still wouldn't use it, especially with brothers named Brian and Graham!

I like it, I mainly associate it with F.S. Fitzgerald’s wife so it has a very 1920s vibe for me.

I love Zelda; it's one of my top names right now. My SO and I are both fans of the games, so I feel like I could get him to agree to it, lol.Zelda Claudette

I've thought about Zelda Valentine and Zelda Winifred, but wondered if they were too "whimsical." Zelda Frances, in comparison, is far more grounded.Zelda Lorelei also jumped out at me (perhaps Zelda Lorelai?).

Oh Zelda's about to pop right back up and it'll be in the top 15 by the time a man realizes how cool it is that I've memorized monty python and the holy grail backwards and forwards and is ready to make me a child and no one will realize how awesome I was 8 years ago for realizing this was the best name ever. THE END BYE I love Zelda I've loved it forever. I even love Griselda. The problem is that Griselda and Zelda behave totally different in combos.Zelda is a dream for combos. I think it goes well with almost everything, and therefore prefer the fanciful and exuberant, like Zelda Rosemary or whatever (not the best example lol). But it also dresses sternly very well like Zelda Ermengarde. Griselda has very specific requirements. I feel like Griselda is a complete name on its own, and rejects most pairings.

I really like Zelda! There’s something fun and exciting about short Z names in general, and Zelda is particularly appealing to say. I do think of the game(s) (none of which I’ve played much), but I like to think people would quickly associate the name with the person. I think the only reason I wouldn’t use it personally, is because I have another Z name I currently like more. I have Zelda Felicity on my list, but I think there are loads of middles that work well with Zelda.Zelda Faye

I think both Zelda Beatrix and Zelda Margot have nice rings to them, but I wonder whether Zelda Margaux actually looks better...I also thought about Zelda Marguerite.
