I like the names Daniel, Cecilia, and Amanda the most. How interesting this post is!

I've never been an Amanda fan; it seems the most modern of the lot, though - way ahead of its time. I understand the use of Mariana, but in English I love Marianne and would use it.
Nikolai is the best version of Nicholas IMO; Maximus is very ambitious, but Max is good.
Daniel is another name I'd use; Nikanor is gloriously over the top!
If I spoke the right kind of language, Johan would be my preferred form of John. Marcellus is OK in the middle.
Cecilia ... -a ending again. I love Cecily, but Cecilia is too fussy and frilly. Kunigunda is wondrous! Lucky lady.
Karl is too ubiquitous and Polykarpus is too exotic. OK, so I'm hard to please ...
I like Anders much better than Andrew, Andre etc; unfortunately in Afrikaans it means 'or else' or 'different'! Wigilius is a thing of wonder. Please tell us anything you may know about it!

Wigilius seems to be a form of Vigilius, which was the name of a 6th century Pope, and is derived from the same root as "vigil".

Amanda Mariana - Amanda is interesting to see on someone born in the 1840s. I realize it's a name with lots of history but I associate it so much with the '80s and '90s when it was super common in the USA. I don't love it but the meaning is nice. I do like Mariana, but Amanda Mariana has an odd flow... I think a's and m's and n's are repeated too much.Maximus Nikolai - Love it! 10/10, would use.Daniel Nikanor - Daniel is pretty average but a good, solid classic. Nikanor I like but it's very similar to Nikolai.Johan Marcellus - Very handsome.Cecilia Kunigunda - Cecilia is pretty. I've never heard Kunigunda before but it's intriguing. The names together sound very sophisticated.Karl Polykarpus - Karl is nice. Polykarpus is too out there.Anders Wigilius - Sounds religious. Maybe Catholic. Is that just me? Anders is handsome, I like it.
