I wouldn't mind meeting a little Joan at all but the name does nothing for me personally. It just sounds sad or mean (Joan Crawford, for instance -- lol). And it rhymes with moan, bone, etc. :-/

I love Joan, and I really want to use it, but I don't think it would work with a brother named John (which is going to happen if I have a son I am not flexible on that). I think Joan sounds best with a long middle name, that begins with a soft sound like a vowel, so I love Joan Elisabeth. The other combos just sound off to me.

Really, really like it. Quintessential mum/grandma name when I was a kid, but it's grown on me a whole lot recently. Jane was a serious contender for our first daughter (Anne in the end), but these days I think both Jane and Joan would be in the running. Jo and Joanie are darling nns, too. Joan Cecily and Joan Elisabeth are my favs of your combos. Very mediaevel!

I like Joan. I think its terribly underrated, really strong. Of the combos, I like Joan Miranda, because Joan is so straight-laced and Miranda gives it a sense of whimsy. :-)

I don't really like Joan all that much, it's kind of plain. It doesn't seem all that feminine, and it reminds me of surname Jones. I do think nn Joanie is cute, but I'd prefer Joanne / Joanna.Joan Adele - bad flow, it clashes and sounds like you're saying Jonah.
Joan Cecily - nice, but Joan Cecilia would flow better imo.
Joan Elisabeth - nice combo, I like these names together!
Joan Miranda - pretty good. I like the name Miranda.
Joan Rosalind - it's good, but the flow isn't that great, the first sylables of each name seem to rhyme. What about Joanna Rosalind or Joanna Rosalyn?

Its my mother's mn, so as much as I don't exactly care for it, I am quite fond of it at the same time (my mother is an amazing woman - aren't they all). I like Joan Miranda, Joan Rosalind (only because Rosalind reminds me of my mother's grandmother Rosalia), and Elizabeth is okay, but kind of a filler to me

I don't like the name Joan, but if I had to pick from one of the above names, I would have to choose Joan Elisabeth. I think that it has the best flow to it.
