Yes !Actually, I'm sick of seeing it as a middle name--it would be refreshing to see it as a first name. Very nice!

Its beautiful as a first name. Its one of those names like Rose or Joy or Lee (for a boy) that are so overwhelmingly used as middle names that when used as first they seem very refreshing in a weird way.

YES!It's gorgeous and unexpected as a first name!

Why wouldn't it be?I think it's really pretty, and it's fairly uncommon as a first name. I like it a lot because it's the name of one of my best friends. Her middle name is Louise though which is kind of fillerish though.

It makes a beautiful first name! It's way overused as a middle name, IMO.

Of course! I love Marie. It's really sweet and soft but it doesn't sound too fluffy. And because it's so tired as a middle name, it seems fresh and exciting as a first name.My favourite Marie combos are:
Marie Bernadette
Marie Catherine
Marie Cécile
Marie Christiane
Marie Clothilde
Marie Édith
Marie Jeanette
Marie Katarzyna
Marie Katelijn
Marie Pantaléonne
Marie Sévérine
Marie Simone
Marie Thérèse
Marie VivianeI also like is as a double name (Marie-Cécile, Marie-Hélène, Marie-Léonide, Marie-Édith, etc).

Of course!I^d rather meet a little Marie than see it just as a filler mn.

Love it! I'd so much rather see Marie used as a fn than a mn. It's so refreshing and classy. I think it'd be adorable on a little girl, and I also like the nickname Manon.

Sure! Using it as a first name breathes new life into an old classic that became very, very tired in the middle name position. I like Marie quite a bit. I also like it in double names like Annemarie or Rose-Marie.

Absolutely!I only like Marie as a first name.

Absolutely. I didn't used to be a big fan, preferring Mary and Maria, but Marie has grown on me lately. It's solid but still very pretty. I like that it doesn't sound quite as utilitarian as Mary and doesn't end in an -a like Maria (making it a bit less flowery or rhymey with other -a or -ia names). Off the top of my head I like the combos:Marie Romaine (but I like almost anything with Romaine)
Marie Antonia
Marie Valerie / Valeria
Marie Rosina / Rosine
Marie Renata
Marie Simone
Marie Alberta
Marie Ophelia
Marie Emmeline
Marie Eleonore
Marie Irina
Marie Leitha
Marie Claudia
Marie Kassandra / Cassandra

Yes, wonderful. It's extremely overused as a middle name, but as a first name I love it.
