Marie, Maria, or Mary?
Which of these classic names would you be most likely to use as a first name?

MaryI'd definitely use either Mary or Maria after my grandmother, whose full name was Maria but went by Mary. I would also consider using a pet name like Mamie.

Mary, without a doubt.:)

Marie - it never gets a shot at the first-name spot. Though I prefer the Welsh version, Mari.

Although Maria is kind of a family name...I think I would choose Mary, I used to love this name.

In this order:Mary - It's a really sweet name that was regrettably overused in previous generations. My only problem with it is that it would be so hard to pick a mn. Virtually any combo would sound like some kind of cutesy double fn.Marie - I was first turned onto Marie when I read a book about the Depression and it seemed like every third woman had this name. It strikes me as very sophisticated and, like Rose, is so much better as a fn than as a mn.Maria - Another elegant name but it strikes me as rather dull at the moment.

Marie, hands down.I never meet someone named Marie. Middle name, sure, but NEVER a first name.

Oh, this is tough! I love all three, so I guess it would depend on what kid of combo I was going for. Right now, though, I think I'll pick Marie. But that could easily change in the next hour. :P

Mary, but only as a double fn (Mary Isobel, Mary Eleanor, etc.). I find it adorable.

I love all three names! However, I'm currently most fond of Marie, which I consider greatly underrated.

MaryIt's my favorite girls' name ever so I'd hope to use it. Maria would be my next choice out of those then Marie. Marie Theresa is my grandmother's name and I wouldn't want to name my daughter after her despite the fact I really like her name.
