Philippa and Penelope
I've recently added Philippa (nn Pip and Pippa) to my top three (might just be my new number one). I adore it. Philippa or Phillipa? I think Philippa is correct but not sureI'm trying to find the perfect combo, but drawing up a blank. I have Philippa Iris (my fav name ever, that I can't use in the first name slot) and also thought of Philippa Daisy which has charmed me as well. Philippa Iris, Philippa Daisy, or something else (suggestions?) If I don't use Philippa Iris I was thinking of moving Iris to Penelope. Penelope Beatrix, Penelope Iris, or something else (suggestions?)
Thanks!

Philippa has been growing on me. I thought it was a very awkward name, written or spoken, but it has a kind of energy to it that's appealing. I really dislike Pip and Pippa, though.
Philippa Iris is lovely (it's sharp and fresh and green), Daisy sounds flat and childish. I was going to suggest Philippa Rosamund but I definitely prefer Philippa Iris.
I'm really not sure about Penelope, it sounds like the name of a snob but I suppose that's a personal association. I prefer Penelope Beatrix to Penelope Iris.

I'm not wild about Philippa or Penelope, however, I love the nns Pippa and Penny. So cute.I won't give you mn suggestions since I tend to have certain favorites. Others tend to have more creative choices that'll probably appeal to you more.ETA that while I prefer the nns to the formal names, I'd use those names anyway. Nothing wrong with either.

Philippa is correct, in my opinion. I don't think Iris or Daisy quite go with it. Maybe Philippa Maisie.Penelope Beatrix, Penelope Iris are both lovely.

Philippa (this spelling) is one of my favorite names as well, and I love the combo Philippa Iris. My stock combo is Philippa Sage--it seems like Philippa goes well with nature names. :-)Penelope is also quite pretty, but I feel like since it's a name with so much going on, it needs a more understated middle name. It's one of the cases where I think a "filler" middle (Anne, Lynn, etc.) name would actually be fine.

Thank you! I agree that little nature names go well with Philippa, makes it seem a little less serious and heavy.

I prefer Philippa, and I adore the nickname Pippa. I really love Iris as well, so Philippa Iris sounds beautiful to me. Penelope is one of my favorites too, and I like Penelope Iris. Not a huge fan of Beatrix, but together they kind of work. I don't really like how Philippa Daisy sounds. They both have this light, airy quality to me, which I like, but I think it needs to be balanced by something else. Some combos you might like:
Philippa Violet (I'm a flower name junkie!)
Philippa Daphne
Philippa Genevieve Penelope Violet
Penelope Clare (I usually don't like Clare much, but I like the flow of this)

Thanks! I really like both Philipa Iris and Penelope Iris lol.
I love all the combos you have, especially them with Violet and Philipa Genevieve!

I would go with Philippa. The double 'p' makes it seem fuller and more complete. Philippa Iris is a great combo, Daisy just doesn't get that same flow. What aboutPhilippa Olive
Philippa Caroline
Philippa Blanche
Philippa Constance
Philippa RuthPenelope is one of my favorite names. Penelope Iris just sound as fantastic as Philippa Iris. These are some of my top Penelope combos.Penelope Sloane
Penelope Rosemarie
Penelope Elspeth
Penelope Elisabeth
Penelope Viola
Penelope Juliet

I think I agree about Philippa, it's seems a bit more complete to me.I really love Philippa Caroline and Penelope Elspeth, Viola, and Juliet. I like Penelope Rosemarie too, but don't think I could use that as dd is Rosemary lol. Thanks!

I've liked Filippa for 2 years or something but just recently started to like the spelling Philippa, which I now prefer. I don't like any of the nicknames for it though, especially not pippa since it's a slang for having sex in Swedish. I don't like Iris at all though, so I would go with Philippa Daisy. Or Rose. Or Noelle. Or Caroline. Or...well, I guess you get the idea. I love a lot of middle names for Philippa.

Thanks! I don't mind that Pippa is slang for sex in Swedish, it's just a nickname. I do like the middle name options that you suggested for Philippa, well except Rose, can't use Rose lol.

First, I adore this name as well. I see you have a little one named Rosemary (my favorite name of all time and what I plan on using to honor my mother if I ever have a girlie of my own), and I think they go really really well together. I would go with Philippa. It just looks more right. And, I can't think of anything to top Philippa Iris. What a beautiful, classic combo.

Thank you! I am charmed by sisters named Rosemary and Philippa. They seem like they belong in a British children's book lol.
