Re: Today's name of the day: Esther
I like Esther a lot. It isn't pretty, but it's one of those names that doesn't have to be; it has enough personality to make up for the lack of conventional prettiness. It doesn't sound weird in my accent, as far as I know. :/ "An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. What is conventional prettiness? Utterly subjective on all accounts.I am going to go out on a limb, and assume your talking about names like Sophia, Amelia, Olivia, and Isabella. Flimsy and vapid.Trend city.Esther is extremely pretty, even by classic standards. I love a capital E (red) followed by a lowercase s (sage).

Yes, I'm talking about names that are popular and sound classically feminine, or at least more feminine than Esther. Yes, it's all subjective, but that was just MY opinion. To me, Esther isn't pretty, but it isn't ugly , either. It just doesn't have the frills that those other names have.

I think that about Pearl.
