Re: A few name questions :P
1: Your favorite feminine names starting with the letter "D"
Delaney
Demetria or Demitra
Dione
Drea
Deirdre is interesting. Deborah has a strong namesake in the judge and prophetess who lead Israel, but I can't get past the nick name Debbie.
2: Honest opinions on Dalia, Delia, Delora, Delilah and Dakota
Dalia- I used to unreasonably dislike this name but am building tolerance for it. It does remind me of the Black Dahlia, a murder victim in an almost Jack the Ripper like case.
Delia- Too sickly sweet, but an excellent name for an antagonist in a novel.
Delora- okay
Delilah- The name of a prostitute who sold her lover for money. It means weak or languishing, traits most parents wouldn't want their daughter to have.
Dakota- Cute and spirited sounding, and the meaning "allies, friends" is great. 3: Josephine or Jodie (I go back and forth;loving Josephine one moment than prefering Jodie the next and then changing my mind because the name reminds me too much of "Judy" which I just despise. Reminds me too much of Judge Judy who I can't stand
Josephine and Jodie are both nice. Jodie brings to mind Jodie Foster, and Josephine reminds me of Jo from "Little Women." Of the two, I prefer Josephine since it is traditional and dignified yet can still be shortened to spunky Josie. 6: Favorite feminine names starting with the letter "X" (a tough letter indeed)
Xanthe and Xena
