Re: Rip these names to shreds +
Amaury - hard for me to say.
Amos - old fogey name, musty and churchy
Amyas - seems to fit in, modern styled ... such an ambiguous prn though. AY-mee-us? a-MY-us? a-MEE-us? I only find the last one appealing at all
Avery - random pretty surname more common on girls nms
Dmitri - cool
Elias - similar to Amyas but more forgettable by far
Finbar / Finn - annoying
Hadley - see Avery.
Hardy - too evocative.
Haydn - without the e it's pretentious
Hector - I like it. Seems Hispanic (where I am anyway)
Ilya - cool ... if he's Russian.
Ingo - I don't know how this sounds when said correctly, it might be cool, but in my accent it's really not great, kinda Ringo minus an R.
Ira - I kind of like it
Ivo - I like it. ambiguous prn tho. I say EYE-vo
Jonah - I know a Jonah who's 9. Don't really care for name - it's marshmallowy
Lennart / Leonard - Leonard is ok. Le Nerd? Leonardo seems less clunky and more fashionable. Lennart is downright dorky
Lucian - I like it
Otto - alright. bit hipster but I like it ok.
Quinn - better as a girl name IMO, sounds too much like queen for a man
Rafferty - cartoonish
Raleigh - stuffy. rather Rollo
Renard - eh. ok
Ridley - cartoonish, GPish
Robin - like. a fave
Rupert - eh. it's ok, a little foppish
Tobias - fusty
Valentin / Valentine - I like. "strong" name IMO
Viggo - trendy/hollywoody on an American, otherwise dunno. it's ok
Walter - nms, to me it sounds too much like falter and halting and it gives me an impression influenced by the words, of a shy clumsy person
Winston - the sound is nice. but it has the stiltedness of the -ton ending, and reminds me of cigarettesAugust's brothers might be (not all in one family): Orion, Everett, Silas, Jasper, Oscar, Raymond, Beckett, Tristan
From the list above: Lucian, Tobias, Rupert, Jonah- mirfak

I bounce back and forth between IE-vo and EE-vo for Ivo, I can't make my mind up on it. Thank you! I'm liking the idea of Silas but I'm not sure I like it enough.
