Re: Clara for a little dog? What would you call a dog?
That's interesting, I just realized that you live in Norway so I bet Thor/ Tor isn't that unusual of a name for a son, in the US it is a very uncommon name. I'm curious why you would use the spelling Thor rather than Tor?Also I love the name Clara! It is in my top 25 names list for girls. Stella is also in that list.Morris is a cute name for a dog or a cat or a ferret or a turtle. I prefer it as a pet name than a human name. Until I have children and am done having them I won't feel comfortable using my absolute favorite names for a pet. Also I prefer names that end in the -ee sound for pets than for humans. For humans I like names that have nn's that end in the -ee sound.

It is actually quite dated right now, to be honest. But I think it has good potential to be trendy again, because it has a lot of great background with it, and it is short and simple. I choose Thor over Tor because I think it is more internationally friendly. And I think it looks prettier on paper. And we don't have that th-sound, so the h will be silent in Norwegian anyways. But it won't be just Thor, I think I want the combo Thos Magnus. Two names strongly attached to Norway and Scandinavia in general, but they work just fine in English. And as the world is being more globalised every day, I have that as an important criteria for my future childrens names. Both Clara and Stella are lovely names! And I see that I love several of your favorites, like Dorothea, Iris, Julian, Magnus and Cedric. I totally feel you about using favorite names on pets. But I also know that some of my favorites are probably just my guilty pleasures, and that it'll never end with that name. So then I can rather use it on a pet. Like Clara. And about Morris, I would never use Morris on a child, I see it clearly for a pet. It is funny and sweet in a charming way, and therefore perfect for a pet.
