1) I prefer Emma because of the connection to Jane Austen's novel, which I love. It also just so happens that I've never met a nice Emily. It sucks because Emily is a genuinely nice name. Emma is simple, yet pretty. 2) I prefer Lily because it's a nature name. The flower is really pretty too. Chloe is cute as well, but doesn't sound as nice.3) I prefer Luna. It seems quirky, yet on trend. Nova just seems bizarre to me and reminds me that my cousin named his son Novah. I just think of Pizza Nova and Nova Scotia. I should like the name Nova, based on its sounds, but I just really dislike it. 4) Ooh, this one is tough. Hmm. I think I prefer Matilda just because I could call her Tilly! So cute! I love Helena too, but there are multiple pronunciations, which bothers me, and I prefer its variations: Helen, Elena, Eleni, Lena, etc.

Emily. Because Emma is tomorrow's Mary and Sarah yawn, and it's kinda just a fragment of a name. Emily is a cool medieval name from Latin, it's got some grit. Emily could go by Emma but not the other way.Chloe, because ... well, it's way more classic. And because I think Lily evokes a soft white flower with a vaguely suggestive appearance and a connotation of 'purity,' and I just think it's very weak sounding .. lee lee .. pretty and pleasing, but not much as a woman-name, to me.Luna because it means moon, and Nova to me seems much more like a word for an "exploding star," and the brand name of many things. And it has a big fat NO in front. Nova my thing. I'd rather lunatic Luna.Helena, because I just don't like the sound of Matilda. Mutt til duh. Helena is harsh and breathy but sounds more pleasant to me.

1) Emily. Emma just feels dull and heavy to me. Emily is bright and cheerful.2) Chloe. I like the hard start, but it's still kind of a cute name. Lily doesn't feel solid to me.3) Luna. Nova is just too novel for me. I like Novalee even though it's trendy. Luna is kind of quirky, though moving more mainstream4) Helena. I actually think Matilda is a more solid name. But Helena is gorgeous (I say huh-LEE-nah)

1. Emily. I like both names, but I prefer the sound of Emily slightly more than Emma.
2. Chloe. Simply because Chloe is the name of my sister.
3. Luna. I like both, but here I prefer the meaning of Luna.
4. Helena. I love the idea of using Hellie or Lena as nicknames. Matilda is very popular where I live (Australia) and there's a heaviness to the name that I don't like. Helena seems livelier/fresher.

1) Emily- I think it’s pretty obvious why. I’ve always liked my name.
2) Lily- I’ve never been a big fan of Chloe, it’s starting to sound very dated.
3) Luna- I feel like Nova is too ‘out there’ for my liking. It’s a nice name but I prefer Luna.
4) Matilda- I can’t personally picture Helena on a little girl and I don’t like the British pronunciation.

1)Emma or Emily and why?
Emma, because while I like both, I tend to prefer shorter names and I know way too many Emilys (and several Emmas but not as many as the Emilys). I prefer the -a ending in this case.
2)Chloe or Lily?
Lily, because it's a variant of (and how every stranger spells) my nickname! Besides that, I just don't really like Chloe for its sound or trendiness. It already sounds dated to me. 3)Luna or Nova?
Yikes, I honestly don't like either much at all, but while I detest Luna, I only dislike Nova. 4)Helena or Matilda?
Helena, because it's a name I would consider giving to my daughter. It's classic, gorgeous, and uncommon :) I used to dislike Matilda, then I liked it a lot, and recently I've gone back to disliking it. It's starting to sound matronly to me.

1) Emma or Emily and why?
Emma is a silly little name which sounds like baby-babble. Emily is lyrical and radiant and beautiful.2) Chloe or Lily?
Lilies are not my favourite flowers, especially the drooping white ones associated with funerals. Chloe is lively and pretty and very much nicer, and for anyone who cares, it's even got a botanical meaning!3) Luna or Nova?
Without question, neither. Luna just begs for an insulting nn, and Nova where I live is a range of polishes and wood varnishes; might do for a newborn, but not for long. I know a Luna, so I suppose I could choose it, but only at gun-point.4) Helena or Matilda?
Matilda. There's only one way to pronounce it, which is helpful, and it's got a glamorous aura of medieval toughness. I'd use Helen rather than either Helena or Matilda, for what that's worth.

Emily, I just hate the sound of Emma
Chloe, love it and hate flower names. Too frilly for me
Luna sounds better but don't like it.
Helena - I hate both but like Lena

Emma: I love that name. It is a family name, and my fn. I know that Emma is trendy, but I still find it a classic.Lily: This is another Victorian classic that has come to light in the 21st century.Nova: Nice as a mn. Unique, but still relatable. It is a family surname, too!Matilda: I am not a fan of either, but I prefer M names, so Matilda wins!

1. Emma. The meaning of Emily is derogatory. 2. Lily. It just seems simpler and more clearly beautiful than Chloë.3. Luna, just because I like it and always have. 4. Definitely Helena. It just has a stronger, less frilly sound to me.

Emma because I prefer the etymology.Chloe because I prefer the sound.Luna, because Nova is just bad traffic in my mind.Matilda, because I'd prefer a medieval tapestry to a blank-eyed marble statue.
