Violet Elizabeth
My niece has just started listening to Just William books on tape. Just William was written between 1922 and 1970. One of the female characters is a 6 year old called Violet Elizabeth. I like both names but the character is a whiny and precocious 6 year who cannot understand why the 11 year old protagonist and his friends won’t play with her. As a result of this image I could never use the names together.
WDYT of Violet Elizabeth?
Hoping for
Howard Ian James Graham
Carys Lynette Ottilie Rose

It's nice enough, rather Victorian or Edwardian. It's missing the wow factor for me, but you can't go wrong with this name.
It's a very nice, classic combo. Really practical and unproblematic. However as nice as it is, I think it sounds slightly better the other way around.
I don't like it, but that's because I don't care for Violet much. It's nice in some other accents, but not in mine. Way too close to "violent." I like the color and the flower, but I could live without it as a human name.
I have an image in my head now
Of an actress called bonnie Langford as violet Elizabeth bott screaming I'll be sick sick sick from an adaptation in the 70's

I don't like the name Violet
If she's always called "Violet Elizabeth" as a double name then it does sound pretentious. As a combo Elizabeth Violet might sound better.
(I haven't read the books, but it doesn't sound that bad to me. All 6 year olds would seem whiny when compared to older people, and if anything I'd think the 11 year olds were being annoying because they wouldn't play with someone younger than them.)

I *saw* this combo, but I didn't *notice* it right away. I had to read it again. It's perfectly fine and it's pretty, but it's BORING. There is no risk, here.
I have never read those books, but I kind of feel for that character, lol. I was the baby sister, and I wanted to play with my older brother and his friends. I get it.

I agree
I like both of the names individually, but not together.
