Taya?
My sister recently had a baby girl and has named her Taya Leoni Peta. Her usual taste in girls names was quite pretty...but this name... I just don't find anything appealing about it at all :-( What are your thoughts on it?

Love the sound of Taya, but prefer the spelling Téa. I have heard the name Peta. Dakota Fanning played a role with this name in one of her movies. Thought it would be a nice FN, but probably wouldn't use it as a MN.

I like the name butThe association with the actress is really... weird. Is she a huge fan or something?

She wasn't actually named after the actress :-) my sister just really liked the name taya and Leoni is the name of her husband's mother and peta is after her husband, peter, which i find a bit tacky but anyway she is such a cutie i'm sure her name will grow on me :-)

It might be more okay for me but there is an actress named Tea Leoni which is pronounced the same. Don't get me wrong I like her but I think it's odd. I really don't like PetaProud Auntie to: Robert Joseph and Brady Lovander, Juliana Mae and Sophia Lee, Graham Joseph, and soon to be two more!

I like Taya but only as a double name because it seems plain otherwise. I like Taya~Leanne and Taya~Nicole.:Marie:.Future Next Female Prime Minister (Hehe)

Taya - pretty enough but not really my style
Leoni - okay though I prefer the spelling Leonie
Peta -I know a girl with this name and the way she pronounces it sounds just like the male name Peter which I dont find attractive on a girl, The association with the group PETA puts me off the name even more

Taya is kinda cuteLeoni - is interesting but NMSPeta - Sorry but i despise this name 100% due to PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) or I like to call people eating tasty animals *smirks*, i loathe them, hate them, and despise that group so all I think of it that when i see "Peta". too bad it as a such a bad association.Noah, 4 - "Dad, I love a fun guy!"
Dan - "Oh really? Pumpkin, I'm so glad you think i'm a fun guy!"
Noah, 4 - "No! Dad! I like fungi! you know mushrooms!".

I think it's a pretty name but odd that she would choose the same name as an actress. As for everyone's remarks about PETA, learn some compassion for animals. Don't be so self involved and know that many animals leave horrible horrible lives inside factory farms. Any group that is compassionate towards this can't be that bad.
