Gertrude & Maud
I know, I know, talking about names like Gertrude and Maud is far from unusual and the answers are always 50% "this is hideous and ought not be used" and 50% "this is a scrumptious name and anyone who doesn't admire it is pedestrian", so I shan't ask your opinion on them. But what I will ask is:
a) what middle names would you pair them with?
b) what first names would you pair them with?
c) which of the two do you prefer?
d) Maud or Maude?
e) Gertrude "Gertie" or Gertrude "Trudy"?
f) if you heard about two sisters named Gertrude and Maud (of any age), which one would you assume is older? Be it because the name feels more mature or just a hunch. Thanks!masculine list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/191050/124079

3) prefer Gertrude

5) Neither, if I had to pick between the two: Trudy but prefer Truly or just Gertrude.
6) I would think Gertrude is older. Maude younger.

Maude Rosetta is great! And wow, I love that Tamila is a variant of Tomila (from the Slavic element for "torture").

a) Gertrude Rosalind & Maud Etheldreda
b) Amanda Gertrude & Lilian Maud
c) Gertrude. It has always been a GP of mine. No strong feelings about Maud.
d) Maude looks more complete and elegant IMO.
e) Trudy. Gertie sounds like a modern nickname that feels a bit forced. Trudy comes more natural.
f) I'd assume Gertrude was older because it's more common (or more heard of) than Maud, and I tend to expect the older sibling to have the more common name (parents tend to be more liberal / wild with younger kids' names).

I love both names! Gertrude is so beautiful.a) Gertrude Ianthe & Maud Elektra
b) Celestina Gertrude & Bibiana Maud
c) Gertrude
d) Maud
e) Trudy
f) If the sisters were elderly, I’d assume Gertrude to be the older one. If they were young girls born in the 21st century, I’d assume Maud to be older because it’s been embraced more by daring parents than Gertrude has.

I really like Maud! I'm really coming around to it. It's such a tidy little name. a) Maud Christina and Gertrude Lilyb) oh that's tough, they look so sad in the shadows..... Winifred Maud & Lavender Gertrudec) I prefer Maudd) Ohh, another tough one..... Maud, I think?e) Trudy!!f) If they are young, I would guess that Maud is older. If they are old, then I would guess Gertrude is older. Gertrude does have a more serious, older vibe.
