Alex : Boy, Girl, or completely unisex?
Subject speaks for itself. Do you think Alex is exclusively feminine, masculine, or 100% unisex?_______________________________________________________

Unisex but mostly for boys.

Unisex. I would never guess from the name whether the bearer was feminine or masculine. I do have a female cousin named Alex (just Alex. It's not short for anything, and she has no middle name.).

Unisex, since it can be used as a nn for Alexandra and Alexander.

I’m not crazy about the name in general, but I prefer it more for boys.

100% unisex, but...I find it more annoying on girls.

I've never met a girl one; Alex boys are on every street corner.

Unisex imo. Although I'd imagine it would be a nn for a girl. I prefer it for a girl.

MaleBy itself 100% male, as a nickname it could be unisex but I'd assume a male if I'd encounter it.

I agree with this.As a stand-alone name, it is almost exclusively masculine imo
As a nickname, I think it's totally unisex (but would guess a guy if I didn't know).

Alex is completely unisex and good for anyone of any gender.

UnisexIt feels unisex but goes a bit more towards the masculine side as I know more boys named Alex. However, I am genuinely so sick and tired of this nickname and wouldn't use it for a boy or a girl. But Alex is genuinely a name that I wish people would stop using. It has been crazy common since at least the 80s.I know so many.Alexander was super common for boys and for girls Alexandra, Alexis, Alexa and Alexandria made the top 100. It needs a good rest. I find it even more tired than Kate and Katie even though these two are at least somewhat pleasant and there aren't also a million boys around with them. The only one of the Alex-names I still like is Alexa because it isn't that likely to get shortened and Alexis (but I am tired of it).

Completely unisex, and......I really like it. I know people tend to hate Alex here, but I'm not sure why. I think it's a good name.

Me too, it’s one of my favorites and has been for a long time
