Becky is hideous.

I think Rebecca is beautiful and timeless. It could stand on its own without any nicknames, but Becky is fine too.

As a Rebecca i've always loved my name, but I detest ever being called Becky. My husband does it occasionally to annoy me. Bec or Bex are my preferred nicknames and a few people are allowed to call me Becca.

I love Rebecca but not Becky. Rebekah is also nice.

Rebecca is similar to Deborah: both biblical of course, and also both are IMO better as mns because their obvious nns, Becky and Debby, are very unattractive and unappealing to me. And the full forms are timeless, beautiful and strong, but I wouldn't risk them as fns.

In the US, Becky has had an increasing unfortunate connotation referring to racist middle aged white women in a similar fashion as Karen.

It's funny that you should bring this name up since I've been thinking of it more after watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend a few months ago
(the main character is Rebecca)Rebecca has always felt a little bit generic to me and kind of frumpy, but lately it's been feeling more like a strong woman's name to me like Veronica or Meredith. A little outmoded but has an innate womanly strength to it. Definitely feels like a fully realized adults name more than a child's imo. I don't really care for Becky necessarily because of the negative connotations with the name the last few years, but I still like Becca or Bex alright.

It’s my name and I love Rebecca. I have answered to Becky, Reba, Bec, Becca and Rachel as well as my full name over the years.I go by my full name now and my nickname now for immediate family only is Bec. I would still answer to Reba if someone called me it but Becca and Becky feel a little young.Rebecca is also the name of the mother of two of my brownies and she is probably mid 40s now. Despite my feeling Becky is too young it is her preferred nickname. I’m younger than my brownies mum by around 7/8 years.

I really dislike the nickname Becky, I think it's very unattractive. I do like Rebecca.

I really like Rebecca and wouldn't mind using or giving it. I'm not that fond of Becky, it feels kind of babyish. I've known enough Rebeccas who go by the full name that I wouldn't foresee much trouble getting people to not use Becky or Becca.

I like Rebecca - it's a good, solid classic - but prefer Becca to Becky as I find it less... idk, whiny. In fact, I think Bec / Beck as an adult might be superior.
