not just you ...
in reply to a message by Pickles
For years, whenever I herd of someone getting a dog, and its name wasn't Bailey or Tucker or Sadie or Lily, I was surprised.
My mother and stepfather adopted a golden-doodle last year; his name's Ernie, but they didn't name him that, he was already named when he arrived.
Let's see;
Boris (cuddly bear-like dog name?)
Monster (ironic!)
Ringo?
Fast Eddie?
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!

and Max and Milo ...
Or Toby or Lucky.
Or Toby or Lucky.
Molly is also super popular.
North Dakota is, once again, odd.
I know dogs named Edna, Haven (no joke - it's a show dog), Esme, Betty, Deanna, obscure Norse gods - but none of the common ones. But my relatives' dogs are Sparky, Ruby, Andy, and Sammy.

Yeah, I know dogs and cats with unique names, too. It's just that there are also plenty of top 100 names out there.
ETA: I was curious, so I googled popular dog names by state, and Jack and Teddy are apparently the most popular dog names of North Dakota. Or so they claim.

I've never come across a Teddy. I do know a few Jacks and Chloes
Most of the common dog names mentioned I haven't come across in ND. I've heard them in DC, but not here.
It's not something special or anything, I just find it odd.
